They start with the blood tests, looking for the auto antibodies, or red flags in the blood. If they locate them then depending on what they are, they might ask for x-ray or MRI. However look at this in a positive light, I assume you are not feeling well, they are thinking autoimmune, will do the tests. Now it might be positive, therefore they can treat!

That all sounds pretty serious. The problem with autoimmune diseases is that they all relatively have the same symptoms so only your doctor can diagnose you. Just because you might have an autoimmune disease doesn't mean you can't have a full productive life though. It is possible, just possible (doesn't mean you do), to have something even though you are so young since a lot of these diseases are passed through genetics. I would try not to worry about it( I know easier said then dine) until the doctor diagnoses you with something. Another reason for all this, excluding the CK count, could be anxiety. The best I can tell you is to not look to the Internet for answers. This can cause more worries then necessary. I truly hope everything turns out ok for you and I will keep you in my thoughts. Good luck and best wishes.

What all are they having done to you? I had a 10 vial blood test. Wasn't that bad. Brain MRI is coming up. So far I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. But testing is continuing with lupus ruled out.
