If I join the Navy, will I be able to work towards earning a BSN (Bachelor's of Science in Nursing) as well? Will the Navy help me, while serving?

depends. on you wanting to have the Navy pay for it. then you will need to go STA-21 Nursing Option if you are enlisted, or ROTC Nursing Option if you are not. Both Programs are very competitive and only accept a few people each year.
Otherwise, knocking out clinicals while on Active duty is gonna be impossible.
Russia: who knows, you may get assigned to a ship that pulls in to Vladivostok for a port visit. Otherwise, the only way you are getting there is on a swap program where you would actually serve in the Russian Navy for a while. Almost no enlisted billets and very few Officer billets in this program. Nurses would not be eligible.

Tell you what....
Join the Navy. Strike for Hospital Corpsman (HN... at least it was when I was in). You're going to get more medical training than nurses get by virtue of the fact that you'll be trained to perform some emergency surgery procedures. It's likely you'll know more about medicines and its affects than nurses. You could probably challenge (test out of) many civilian nursing courses. And, since a nursing education is directly applicable to your rate, the Navy might well be inclined to help you.
As far as going to Russia, we have no bases there. The likelihood of your even getting leave to travel to Russia, in view of the current status of our relationship, is probably pretty slim... but things change.

Some ships based out of the Pacific get to go to places close to Russia sometimes. There are opportunities on board ships to take college classes, and tons of colleges offer distance learning for sailors. When you're junior enlisted though, you have to request permission to enroll in classes so that someone can make sure you're not overextending yourself. The Navy does have a good tuition assistance program.

Yes you will be able to work toward your degree. Yes the navy will help you. I have no idea if you will go to Russia.

they'll give u the option to have them pay for it but keep you so busy you'll never use it. you'll have to wait till u get out and use your GI bill.. its a recruiting gimmick..
