Yes I feel like dropping everything HERE and go to Thailand, but not to bum though. Would love to go and work with some community development organisation there.
But.... not to ponder and get all upset. I am heading off to Thailand in November for a well deserved holiday and to visit relatives and sight seeing. YEAH!

you know, too many people just don't realize how many options they have in life - - you want to do something, do it!! All that if there is a will there is a way stuff - - I have been here full time abt 3+ yrs - off and on 10+ .... hey, cut off shorts and tee shirts work for me - I do find ways to keep busy, but only when I want to... best of luck to you - from the responses above, others havedone it, you can too

Actually, that is my plan when I retire. It's a 12 hour flight to the USA in an emergency and with the internet I can stay in contact with family and friends. Just another 10 years. In the meantime, it's my favorite vacation spot.

I'm doing it. I'm going to Thailand in December and have booked a ticket for 8 months. Am feeling a little bit scared as will still have to pay bills so will have to sort out work when i'm out there.

Did that 14 months ago, and have never looked back. My only regret.......I didn't do it 10 years ago when I first started thinking about it
