I usually have the meal without a soft drink.

Most junk food contains either salt or sugar. Both of these substances do tend to increase the excretion of water, in the case of salt, via the kidneys. Sugar changes the osmotic environment of the gut, thus pulling water from the tissues. If you are eating a high fat meal, you need the liquid to help emulsify the fats when the digestive enzymes are added to it.
You are probably not drinking enough water to begin with if you are consuming 2-3 glasses with a meal. Try drinking at least one 6-8 oz glass of water an hour during the day. You should notice that your urine becomes lighter, almost barely yellow. Then you are sufficiently hydrated.
And try laying off the junk food, that leads to diabetes, obesity and other problems. Don't believe me?, watch "Supersize Me" and you will see what happens to someone who eats exclusively junk food.

Most fast foods contain tons & tons of sodium. Excessive salt intake is going to dehydrate you and make you feel thirsty.

Why. Because junk food is full of salt and if you keep eating it you will end of with high blood pressure, then eventually a heart attack. No good for you at all.

Usually it is because of the high salt content. Salt absorbs water, taking it out of your mouth and leaving it dry. Therefor... thirsty
