Ellen Degeneres gave her dog to her hairdresser. Mutts and Moms rescue sent the police to remove the dog (Iggy) from the hairdresser's home. Are there any more updates anywhere? People are unable to access the rescue's web site.

The site was pulled, I believe, because of all the negative publicity. They have a policy that dogs cannot be placed with children under the age of 14, and they are sticking to that. Iggy will not be returned to the hairdresser. I've heard nothing beyond this.

Mutts and Moms Rescue did give the hairdressers family the chance to adopt Iggy the right way. The attorney for Mutts and Moms was on Fox news and he has emails saying the hairdressers family wouldn't fill out the adoption application, and didn't want to return home for the home visit to be done. They were given the chance to do it the right way by Mutts and Moms, but because they had the power of Ellen DeGeneres behind them, they didn't do what was necessary to adopt Iggy, legally from M&M. If someone yanked you around like that, and wouldn't follow procedure when given the chance to do so, I'm sure you would have done exactly what Mutts and Moms did, and take the dog back.

Ellen DeGeneres' doggie dilemma took a nasty turn Wednesday, with the operator of the animal rescue organization that took the pooch away saying she has been deluged with threatening e-mails and phone calls.

The calls got so bad that Marina Batkis said she had to close her business and stay home Wednesday, a day after DeGeneres broadcast a tearful, televised plea for the dog to be returned to her hairdresser and the woman's daughters.

Ellen and the dog rescue organization could have both handled this better.

Ellen should not have assumed that she could make the decision to re-home the dog. Most rescue groups have this rule in place for good reasons.

The rescuers should have checked out the home and let well enough alone.

Why this is national news is beyond me. Ellen should not be using her show for a bully pulpit, and the rescue people need to be reasonable and put the dog's interest first.

This whole thing has become a power struggle played out in the press. The main ones being hurt are dogs all over the country who might not be adopted because people think it could be a problem down the road.

The latest breaking news regarding the pooch is that Mutts and Moms has found him a wonderful new home. Michael Vick will be picking him up from the shelter tomorrow.

Access Hollywood's website has an update that you can check out. Here is the link http://www.accesshollywood.com/news/ah7107.shtml

In the video, the owner of the rescue agency repeatedly comments about her money troubles. But it is very difficult to take her seriously when she is wearing high-priced Coco Chanel glasses!

That rescue should have looked into the new home first before pulling that dog out.
They deserve the negative attention for not putting that dog first instead of their "rules".
If the home wasn't fit for the dog then take it out, they over reacted IMO and not in the best interest of the dog.

Mutts & Moms acted too quickly. If the dog was in danger than remove it!!

Where are they when dogs have been left to die in over heated cars?

If Mutts & mom's don't like the publicty they got maybe they need to use more tact!!

They should've called first!!

It was done and done very stupidly by Mutt's & Moms!!

This could have been handled a whole lot better!!

I dont know why these ppl thought that ellen did such a bad thing ... Yes, she took the dog into her care and realized that she's couldnt keep up with the dog so she gave the dog to someone she knew who could ...

basically according to the messed up legalism of this agency, adopting only means borrowing. "yeah we'll let you borrow this dog until you can't take care of it anymore." - Agency spokesperson
Whats with the no children under 14 rule anyway? Thats upsurd. Those kids were 12 and 13. Close enough. "sorry, but you can't have the dog because you're 12 months too young."- Agency spokesperson
