Your doctor is a moron. Nexium is for acid reflux (heart burn) disease. Compazine (pronounced Com- pa- zeen) would help your stomach pains. Call him and ask him for some. Nexium won't help at all. Trust me, I've suffered from many, many stomach ailements. You can buy something similar to nexium over the counter. He just gave you that to shut you up. The flu will just have to work its way out of you. Keep hydrated!

I don;t understand why he would give you nexium, that is for heartburn and acid reflex.Try some liquid motrin for your stomach pains, the diarrea needs to run it's course for a few days to get the virus out of you,I would say maybe a few days and if you are not better I would call your Dr.Hope you feel better soon.

My sister had real bad gas. I mean it would go up to her chest area and stop there. So the doc. precribed her that nexium. I dont know how her symtoms are related to yours. I guess they both have something to do with the stomach

if your doctor is having you to take it then there is a reason for it. many medications have multiple uses that are found out after the initial reason it was put on the market. If you have questions as to why you are taking that medication in particular then simply call the pharmacist and ask if he thinks this is unusual. after all they see what dr's are prescribing for what, or call the doctor who gave you the prescription. That's my advice. I feel your pain though I have the stomach flu too...

nexium is an acid reducer that also helps heal esophageal ulcers. It sounds like you are being treated for acid reflux which you may actually have.
