Is there a group of Muslims that kill infidels purely for Allah?

I mean, Osama Bin Ladin might kill for Allah, but there is a distinct political motivation behind it (over-agressive foreign policies and whatnot)

So what group, if there is one, is there that is not motivated by politics but by religion alone?

I don't think there is one, is there?

Lister: The Tablian are not purely motivated by religion.

The Taliban are an ousted Government attempting to force NATO to withdraw from Afghanistan so that they can take power again.

Kissimmee:

The Crusaders did not kill for the sole purpose of "pleasing God".

Again, the situation was political; the "bad" Muslims (Seluj Turks) had taken areas previously held by "good" muslims (the ones that allowed free religion etc.)

When the Turks began encroaching on Europe's allies, particularly the Byzantine Empire, the Crusades were launched to save them.

"God wants us to kill!" was, and still is, the term to get morons rushing to the recruiting stations.

After all, you can't have an army of intelligent (knew what the REAL reason was) Crusader knights without peasants for cannonfodder!

Please understand that the Quran says "Killing one human being is killing ALL OF HUMANITY, and saving one human life is tantamount to SAVING ALL OF HUMANITY" Quran 5:32. The context is the murder of Abel by Cain. When Cain killed Abel, he not only killed Abel in person but all those potential humans who were in the lineage of Abel. Thus Cain really killed thousands of human beings over many centuries.

ONCE this basic premise is understood and also the fact the Lord Almighty who we call Allah created ALL HUMANS, Muslims (those who accept Islam), Momins (Truly believe Islam with all their hearts and minds), Jewish folks, Christians and many others.

There is a famous story where Abraham refused to invite a person to his house because he was an "infidel" (which by the way is a Catholic word, which signifies not having fidelity to the Pope and the Mother Church. Islam or Muslims do not expect others to have fidelity to Islam, so the word infidel is really the wrong translation of the word Kafir, which literally means someone who does not accept Islam as the truth). In this story God or Allah then sends angel Gabriel to ask Abraham who did he think was feeding this man all his life, when Abraham was ready to refuse him that one meal the Lord was arranging to provide this atheist through the house of Abraham. This totally embarassed Abraham who ran out and invited the man who was going away hungry to his house and fed him, and they became friends and this man eventually became a believer.

All verses that teach Muslims to kill the "kafir" or the pagan Arabs of the Prophet's time are clearly within the constraints of those who were coming to kill Muslims. It is not allowed to kill a "Kafir" who is armed and was fighting but was now running away from the battlefield. it is not allowed to kill a "kafir" in the battlefield who has either lost his weapon or it is broken. It is not allowed to kill a "kafir" if he is wounded to the point that he is not a threat any more. In this last instance the Prophet taught that one should remember, that the "enemy" has a mother or a wife waiting for him at home and show him generosity and give him water, feed him and give him medicine that you would give to your own fallen or wounded soldiers.

The Prophet also taught that he did not come to collect corpses and kill people physically, but to turn heads, hearts and mind to the path of tolerance and peace. He also said, if you kill one person, two will take his place in revenge, thus it is really a loss of having two additional enemies. Whereas if you turn one enemy into a friend, then you have "killed" an enemy and a friend is born in that same body... a profit of two. Wise words indeed. Thus he spared his arch enemy Abu Sufyaan when he had control over him after he was defeated. When his enemy was a broken man and the Prophet had an army of ten thousand soldiers, he spared all his enemies.

THAT is TRUE ISLAM. That is Peace. But peace can never come by succumbing to the abusers who are more powerful than you and want to inflict suffering on you and try to subdue you by force. FIGHTING is the only choice in such a case, unless and until the enemy is subdued. THEN one is required to let the enemy go and live another day.

I hope this makes sense.

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim - In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Hello. No, there is no such group that believes in "proactively" killing non-Muslims, for lack of a better word. A true Muslim would much rather talk about Islam with a non-Muslim rather than declare such a person an "infidel" and proceed with head-lopping.

Islam does permit Muslims to defend themselves when they are attacked or oppressed. Oppression would be enacting laws that did not allow Muslims to practice their religion openly. However, in such situations Muslims would be required to emigrate from lands of disbelievers to Muslim lands, rather than engaging in terrorism or guerilla war. The world is big enough for us to all coexist.

The situation today is difficult for Muslims because we are in a position of weakness, both spiritually and politically. We have no Khalifah, no single authoratative ruler for all the Muslims on the earth, so we are left to struggle on as best we can with our dwindling scholars and many pseudo-intellectual teachers who teach something other than Islam. Politically, Muslims are led by dictators and other rulers who do not rule according to Islam. This powerlessness along with general ignorance of the religion makes people in "Muslim" countries and the rest of the world ripe for exploitation by the same people who recruited Osama bin Laadin to be their poster boy. They will have to answer to Allah for the misguidance they have taught.

May Allah guide you to that which is best in this world and the next. Ameen.

Fi Aman Allah,

Nancy Umm Abdel Hamid

No true Muslim would do that, its against what the Quran teaches and its against what prophet Muhammad pbuh has taught, So any Muslim who truly follows the quran and the sunnah would not do that

They are misguided, uneducated, extreme individuals who’ve taken it upon themselves to do the most heinous crimes in the name of Islam

"…and seek not corruption in the earth; lo! Allah loveth not corrupters " (28:77)

Prophet Muhammad pbuh said:
Anyone who kills a Non-Muslim who had become our ally will not smell the fragrance of Paradise

Some of the hard-core foot soldiers in terrorist cells may be purely motivated by their religion in much the same way as a Christian bombing an abortion clinic may be purely motivated by their Christianity

The bottom line is that it can´t exist any group - religious or not - totally "un-political".

Any group has its beliefs and rules, by definition, and militate for them, aggressively or not.

Even the "pacifists" are sometimes politically powerful; look at the monks of Burma.

Groups of Muslims are not the only group or individuals who kill other humans for allah, the crusaders killed for their god, the U.S. kill for its god the god referred to in their pledge of allegiance, with the execution of dead row inmates, The better question is why does allah and/or god let humans kill for them, even encouraging them?
