I was offered a job that I had been realy excited about. I began to second guess my abilities and desire for the job, then was offered the position. I said that I needed to think about it and they asked that I call back later in the day with my decision. When it was time to call I was not home an didn't have the number so I called 411 and asked for the person I needed to speak with and ended up on a blank voice mail twice. I left a message declininng the offer and moved on. It has now been a week and I do want the job. Can I take back my no? (that I don't even know if they got) I was thinking of going in person explaining and asking to be re considered. Should I or should I move on? ..... FYI I want the job but I do have another that I want more I just haven't been offerd yet but I need the work and the only offer I have I declined. HELP!!!

Yes but do it NOW, it's worth a shot.

Say that you needed to carefully consider the responibilty that you were about to take on, and that you take all work very seriously. Hey, it's worth a shot.

You can always try. It is a possibility that you can still be considered. I have done it before. I actually had two job offers at once. I ended up turning one down because it was paying less money. When I went to the new position that I accepted it was the worst job I ever had in my life. I learned a valuable lesson, which was to never chase salary. I emailed the person in HR at the job that I turned down and informed her that although I previously turned down the position after careful consideration I feel that the job would be a good fit for me. Lucky for me it was only a weeks time and they had not put anyone else in the position. It also helped that the companies director was the person who selected me. The lady in HR forwarded the email to the director and I was hired. Give it a shot. They will either say yes or no. Good Luck.

You can try to go there in person and speak to them on wanting the job. They may already have a replacemant canidate though. You also shouldnt take the job to turn around a week later to accept this other job you want more. I would contact the job you want more and just check the status on them hiring.

You have to move on. You didnt call them by the time they specified, and they've most likely given it to someone else.

At my last job, my manager offered a job to this fellow who said no, he'd changed his mind. Then two days later he called and asked if the job was still available. She told him, No, it was no longer available.

She told the rest of us later that she hates people who make a decision and then change their minds. Its just not professional.

You can call them or stop in, and tell them that you have reconsidered and would like to accept the offer if it's still available - don't be surprised, though, if they turn you down.

If it has been a week they probably hired another person by now but you can always try stopping by and asking.
