We're going out for Chinese tonight and most of the dishes have enough fat and calories to last me for days. It's probably the worste food to eat when you're on a diet like me. I can't afford much at this point. I can't suggest another eating option either so don't say that. I really need help from people that know the best and healthiest choice I can possibly get and is served at nearly every chinese resaurant. PS. I am allergic to shrimp. preferably chicken please! THankyou!

Just opt for a simple chicken stir fry if you can. It might not be on the menu, but you can just ask for chicken and vegetables without that horrible salty sauce they put on everything. If they won't accomodate, I guess your best bet is chicken and broccoli. It'll still have all the salt, but not too much fat. If at all possible, get brown rice instead of white. And eat no more than half your dish--save the rest for lunch tomorrow. They give you giant portions. If you're going to a Chinese restaurant with vietnamese influences, you might be able to get something lighter. Get some spring rolls in rice paper (not fried) as your main meal.

The best thing for you to do is to avoid the fried foods and heavy sauces--no General Tso's or sweet and sour. I generally go by the rule of thumb that if it's a thin sauce (like golden chicken), it might not be so bad.

Make the most of the stir-fried vegetables. And even though it has a lot of carbohydrates, rice is good and filling without having too much fat. I like to get the beef and mushrooms, but only eat the mushrooms, too. They're virtually non-caloric, without the sauce. Finally, the "chicken on a stick" is good--it's still a lean meat, and there's no sauce.

Just get some chicken fried rice and some garlic chicken. These are basic dishes that aren't too bad for you. Try not to eat too much of the sauce with the Garlic Chicken, just eat the meat and you should be fine. Another option is to go for Broccoli Beef, once again stay away from the sauce and just munch on the broccoli and meat. Hope this helps!

I'm sure every Chinese restaurant has their own recipes, but one that's served at a local Chinese restaurant is Snow White Chicken. It's made from tender chicken sauteed with pea pods and water chestnuts. It tastes great, and seems relatively healthy.

I don't know why but I love the taste of plain white rice! Try that, and if you want more flavor just drizzle a little of the juices from the chicken fried rice into it. =D
