I assure you that the world will not end on December 21, 2012. In the book of Revelation, it tells us about a period of a thousand years of peace. Has this occurred already since the time of Jesus? Not yet. That will still come.
But there is something that is certain—and that is our physical death. It may come when least expected. We do not know the day and the hour. It will come like a thief in the night. So we just have to be prepared all the time. Search for the true God and when we find Him, follow His commandments and remain in Him until our last dying breath.
This is all that we have to do. It is faith in Him that we can take with us when we depart from this world. If we deny Him, He will deny us also before the Father in Heaven. If we know Him and love Him and followed His commandments, then He may reward us to live with Him eternally in His kingdom in Heaven.

I do believe something is gonna happen in 2012, I study gnosis and there are 2 predictions:
a) a Giant planet whose orbit belongs to another solar system but crosses through our solar system every X years will tilt the earth axis causing massive destruction. The planet is called Hercolubus.
b) third world war as described in the bible, even you have to see that comming, Iran will develop nuclear capability and attack Israel and that will be affect the atmosphere, oil supply will be suspended, and war will reign, it will be chaos, and this even fits the description in the bible.
I mean just by using logic you know something is gonna happen soon.
Some prophecies and years didn't turn out to happen, but you must remember the future is not written and it can always be changed.
On the other hand, the mayans were known to be incredibly acurate, thus something could happen in 2012 for real.
LOL the mayans are still around, haven't you visit cancun and the yucatan peninsula?, descendants from mayans are a huge population. The mayan kingdom was just scattered by the Spanish conquistadores.

no one can possibly know hen the world will end, and we aren't supposed to try and predict the actual date, and then tell large masses that this is the correct date, because it wouldn't be right and it's unbiblical, and just causing the ones that may be confused about what the bible teaches, to follow some bogus belief. all we know is that there are signs to look for, regarding the end of times, but as for an actual date, the bible says it will happen when it is least expected, he will come like a thief in the night.

You hit it very close. It is between 2012 - 2020 according to the Word. Church age is 2000 years. But we don't know for sure what time God starts to count -- from the day Jesus was born or the day He was dead or the day He was teaching in the temple...... We know the season, but we don't know the exact time. That is is why we need to stay in the season and out of the season. Just be ready.

It didn't end 6-6-2006. It isn't going to end 12-12-2012. When it DOES end, and it will, it will be when nobody is expecting it. Right now for instance.

i think something world changing will happen, but let us look at what would define the end of the world? a certain %of the worlds population dying. a disaster. the world being destroyed?
Think about it.
I personally believe that sometime will happen and it won't be good. There are too many sources telling us that that day will be significant.
