In the Marines, who does a majority of the combat fighting? Is it the enlisted Marines, or do officers see their fair share of the action too?

Of course we do! How do you expect to lead if you were sitting on your butt in the back lines?

Marines lead by example....and my troops knew exactly where I was and what I was doing during combat....because I was right there with them!

A Marine officer is in it with his or her marines almost at all times. They see just as much action as the enlisted do. No matter what the branch of service, the officer should always be there with the troops.

Marine and army officers alike combat...i do no longer understand who advised the different guy or woman that advice yet i'm able to permit you already know first hand that military officers are issued M-4s/M-16s and in many situations a sidearm and get into fray. i understand Marine officers who've been shot. until eventually you goto OCS and get branched in Human supplies or some thing you have boots on floor with the grunts pal.

Yes, we do fight just as much as and along side of the enlisted Marines whom we are charged with leading and developing . As Marine commissioned officers, we always lead from the front and by example. Granted, once field grade rank (major and above) is earned, our roles change quite a bit, but you can still expect to see us lead our units from the front.

I am in the Army but when I was a grunt (11B) are PL and CO were always out on the same patrols we were. So I would assume in the USMC, just like in the Army it all depends upon the officers branch. If he is an infantry, or Armor officer then yes if they are a supply officer then no.

yes they always have,go to a library and check out a book about lt. presley o'bannon at durne tripoli, he stopped the ghihad in 1806 with only 12 marines and lots of help from greece with mercenaries and cannons as they surrounded the town and fought, until lt. o'bannon made the leader bow down and he was beheaded in front of everyone, then the lt. understanding the religion asked the whole town if they want to,walk inside a natural cave and it would be blown shut to help them to see allah
