Example. If any one says the earth is flat, you will laugh at them because you know the earth is round (we have sattelite images to prove it) If you fight the truth you will be laughed at for being stupid and ignorant and denying actual physical evidence.

My question is: If your religion is true, why do people attack it?

Well we have proven scientifically to all and it is accepted by ALL that the world is round now and not flat.

To say your RELIGION is true and all others is not only arrogant to say but self riteous and would place you among the damned in your own religion for passing judgement on people when in your own Religion states it is your GODS job to pass judgement. You are supposed to turn the other cheak. Your not, making you not a good follower.

So I see many people laughing at you right now for such a pompous statement. Your religion is no more fact than any other religion accept for in your own heart and that is all that should matter to you is what you believe not others, they too have the right to choose what is correct just as you do. You have no right to judge nor do I or anyone else.

There aren't multiple truths... but there are multiple perversions of the truth and sadly that is what most organized religions are. Historically speaking (don't take this personal!!!) religions formed when Kings and others in a position of power found things that they did or didn't agree with... hence a new religion... different churches and groups choose which parts to beleive and which ones to ignore so there's none that are the ABSOLUTE Truth inspired by the divinity.

{{One ex. - Southern Baptist Church that forbids dancing and ignores all of the passages in the bible about the same as a form of rejoiceing and celebrating in the Lord.}}

Historically as well, churches have held a great position of power themselves..with great power comes great corrouption.

All we can do is follow whatever path we believe the truth to be. We attack what we don't understand. Lack of understanding creates fear and it's only natural.

The Truth will not be shattered by question or attack

You're wrong about there being only one truth. When it comes to belief, cultural norms, etc, truth is subjective. There is a tribe in Africa in which the women ritualistically pull out the body hair of a bride-to-be to prepare her for life as a wife and mother. That is truth in that tribe. If you suggested to them that that practice is wrong, they would laugh at you. There are provable truths. The earth is round, my fingernails are painted purple, etc. But even then you get into the philosophical relationship between perception and truth. If a number of scientists percieve the tests that prove something to be true, its it true?
It is the human condition to attack what we feel is wrong or bad or different. That is what keeps society, any society, together. A general agreement of right and wrong, true and false. It lets us grow.
I wouldn't have it any other way.

People attack the idea that we landed on the moon. People always attack the truth. Creationism is attacked. Evolution is attacked. Islam is attacked. Talking with the dead is attacked. You cannot claim that being attacked means you are right. Everyone is attacked in argument. And I don't laugh at people for their errors. If someone says the earth is flat or Zeus is real, I don't mock them I just shrug my shoulders, say, "Okay" and change the subject or leave them be. If they are stupid enough to believe in Zeus I think they will not listen to criticism so why waste my time being polemic?

First of all, you must have observed that people will "attack" just about anything. Many still deny evolution. I would not be surprised to find some group of people somewhere actually still believing the world is flat and laughing at people who know it is round. Just because people attack it, does not imply in is untrue.

Secondly thinking of religion in terms of hard facts and proof is like trying to learn to swim while laying down in you bed. You need to look deeper, try harder and maybe talk to some experts.

Where is the limitation to ignorance registered? Or, put another way, would not one have to Know the Truth to attack it?

Does this mean that all those arguing about truth have no idea what it is? Precisely. Do they know how their argument is registering to those who do know the Truth? Of course not, otherwise they would be too embarrassed to continue.

The bible does not insist the world is 2dimensional

it mean flat with regards to no mountains or valleys,

mountains and valleys would be a consequence of the flood, and god reminiding us of a reminder what he had to do to the world becuase of sin

not many culutres beelived that the world was 2d

they say columbus prooved the world was round

but the romans, the persian the greeks, all had boats, the romans sailed all the way to britian

the vikings went there too

the persians sailed to greece

they lived tohousands of yeasrs before columbus and were not afraid of falling off the "edge"

that myth was created for people living in the days of columbus, as he was a pirate, and they wanted tho prvent the likesa of your grandfathers finding new continents and taking the booty for themselves

so they created pirates.pyra-tes, men of fire

coluimbus, cortez,magellan

all spanish, as pirate is a spanish word. And they went to foreign cultures, pilaged and broguht them to the sword, forcing cathloicism on their heads

much the way extremist islam wants to do now

Because there's disagreement about what the truth is, on many issues.
Even over the nature of truth itself, to make it more complicated.
I disagree profoundly with those repondents who claim truth is personal. Belief *about* truth is personal and yes,in it's oldest uses, that was truth. "Troth: what one was prepared to swear to in court." Elements of "true for me" in that sense survive, but equate to "Credo: I believe."
But God isn't there for one who believes *and* not there for one who doesn't. There isn't room for both to be equally true in the same universe, any more than anyone would claim
"The gun may not be loaded for you, but it is for me."

There is a truth beyond belief and opinion.
Obtaining accss to it isn't always trivial, or easy.
Which is why probability, consensus, fanaticism, models, allegories... are all sometimes employed as substitutes, to the point that it can be forgotten that they are substitutes, or approximations.

Because religion is not true. They are stuck in a world of faith. Trust me I know what its like, I was there.

They will probably not change their beliefs based on scientific evidence. But I will still voice my self.

What evidence is there that god exist? None, except for whats in an ancient text written by primitive men thousands of years ago. Wake Up! I beg of you. Your in the matrix, free your mind people!
