If you like brown: You love harmony, home, simplicity, comfort and quality. You have a steady, reliable character with a keen sense of duty and responsibility. You are a loyal friend, receptive, understanding. You tend to be intolerant of people who rush to inconsidered speech or action. You may find it difficult to be carefree, but have a strong desire to change situations that appear unjust. Family life is very important to you.
If green is your favorite color: You are stable, balanced, caring. Doing the right thing is extremely important to you and you are often a concerned citizen and highly active in the community. You are a caring companion, kind and generous. You are intelligent and attracted to new ideas. Unfortunately, lovers of green tend to be lovers of food, and you have a tendency to be overweight.
Green harmonizes the passivity of blue with the vibrancy of yellow. It is considered the most restful color to the eye, and of all the colors, green is the one in which the human eye distinguishes the widest range of shades.

Now armed with that information. You may want to look into a middle color between green and brown I have linked a color wheel that may help you decide what color would work well with green and brown. You may wish to have a lighter green drape with brown sheers or detailing.
Maybe brown panels and green and brown kerchife like this link http://www.touchofclass.com/product/window/valances+%26+tiers/camden+ascot+valance.do get rid of the blue and add another color that matches a rug or pillows or a chair. or just have the brown and green.
or you can have brown sheers and green sheers and put them on a double curtain rod. then pull back the first layer with a curtain cord. (depeinding on how much privacy you need.)

When you purchase the paint, pick up the color samples to match the paint and the sofa color.
Use the color samples as a guide when you shop for curtains. The curtains should compliment the sofa & wall colors whether they are of a solid or pattern material.

I'd stay in the earth tones or neutral. Perhaps white with a design in accents of browns, greens and navy.
You may want to consider going neutral on your walls (in shades of ivory, pale beige or buttercream). That way you can change your room easily when you want to w/o having to repaint. You can always use green in accents like pillows, throws and window treatments. Just an idea.
Have fun! New spaces are a blast!

I would go with a rich dark brown. Since the walls and sofas are in the muted tones, you need to add some punch with a darker color. The dark brown will add some contrast, but will still maintain your neutral color palette very nicely.

I'd get drapes or curtains that match the couch [ light brown ], perhaps in a great texture [ brocade, burlap, damask, embroidered ] or with gold OR silver accents, or tiebacks in guacamole, silver, or gold. Then they will match everything, but not be boring.
Repeat the guacomole, silver or gold in accessories [ pillows, lamps, vases, ornaments, flowerpots or planters, candles, holders ].
