Intead of paying $15 for parking, what's the cheapest way to get to the Staples Center? Is there cheaper parking around? Where and is it safe?

Or, instead of driving, is public transportation a good option? I'm coming from Camarillo and will have a toddler with me. So, I can't walk too far. If I have to walk and use a stroller, is there a stroller check-in at Staples Center?

well there metrolink train service from Camarillo/Oxnard/Moorpark)
to Union station (also Amtrak from Oxnard) as well
both will take into Union station, then you can take the Red Line/Purple line to 7th/Metro then transfer to the Blue line
for 1 stop to Pico Station and the staples center is right there
and I belive you can take the stroller with you into the Staples center)
I suggest you try for metrolink
(since you can use the metrolink ticket as a transfer for
both the Red line and Blue lines)

but if the event you are going is on the weekend
then you are stuck with Amtrak

Find out the closest Metro Rail station with Park n Ride. Drive there, the parking is free, and take the Metro Rail. We just got home today from the Staples Center area and the station is directly across the street from it. And the most it would cost is $5.00. Thats for an all day pass, cheaper for just a round trip. Its the blue line. If you take the Red line from North Hollywood and then the Blue line, its easy. mta.net web site. Or put in Metro Rail Los Angeles on the seach line.

From Camarillo, the drive can be two hours, depending on traffic.

There is a surface level light rail line that runs on Flower Street, which is one block from the Staples Center.

There are less expensive parking options that are farther away. The least expensive is on-street parking meters, but they are limited in time, at least during business hours. After 6 or on weekends, they might be free and unlimited, but you are unlikely to find a space if there is a big event at the Staples Center.
