Unless you buy condoms online, the clerk will have to see what you are buying so that he can ring it up. There's no way around it.

However, rest assured that the condoms are in the store so that they can be purchased. You're not doing anything that millions of other people don't do:) It would be kind of bad for the store if they put condoms in the inventory and no one bought them. Most clerks don't really care what you buy. As long as you pay for it, they're happy.

Noticing what? That you're buying them? How would you buy something from someone without them noticing? If they don't notice, then that's stealing, whether you lay money down for them or not. I think the person above me is right. If you are afraid of someone noticing you buying condoms, you shouldn't concern yourself with having sex.

I understand that some people want to be discreet and keep their personal business to themselves. I've gone to a store and bought condoms, baby clothes (as a gift), and bullets all at the same time and I like to think I can freak out the cashier. :-) Anyway, there are some grocery and discount stores (like Wal-mart) that have self-check out stations. Cashiers are supposed to monitor the items on a screen, but I rarely see them paying much attention. I would go search around until you find a store that has them.

They see it all the time, and don't care.

It's their job.

You aren't the first person in the world to buy condoms.

There are machines that dispense them, but I don't know where.

But you're being silly. Get a grip. What do you care if the clerk notices?

The clerk notices every time I buy a jumbo box of super absorbency tampons and a gallon of rocky road ice cream on the same day. Do you think she cares if you get laid?

I doubt the clerk cares what you are buying. They probably have other things on their minds other than the fact someone they don't know is going to have sex.

It's more on YOUR mind than anyone else. Why are you so worried? Are you new to the arena? No one cares if you buy prophylactics or not. The self check-out is a good idea if it's available, if not, swallow your fear and just buy them. You'll see that it's not as difficult as you think.

Consider vending machines - they cost more because you're buying them individually - and you don't get a huge selection - but you are anonymous.

But really, do consider swallowing your pride and just buying them.
