16, right now they can choose to kill them selves with ciggies and get married, but can't get drunk on their wedding night. Surely they are bigger decisions then singing on karaoke then waking up with a headache

18. An 18 year old can own a bar but can not drink in it. Before the federal government blackmailed every state into making the drinking age 21, I worked as a bartender in states with drinking ages of 18, 19 and 20. When the drinking age was 18 there were fewer problems than after the age changed to 21. Now when 18-20 year olds get alcohol they drink until it is gone. When they could drink legally they didn't make a big deal about it.

I think, that the age should be lowered. Where I live it's 21. But, think about it this way. An 18 year old man can sign up for the army and loose his life for all of us, but is not old enough to drink?

We give 16 year old kids a license to drive and they are more likely to drink and rebel and then go and kill someone. Where it is almost the opposite in some European countries. They allow kids to drink and drink as part of their culture and by 21 or older when they are allowed to get their drivers licenses they are past the stage of wanting to be hammered, smashed, washed or tanked when they drive. It is a different kind of respect and honor to drink. I agree with the Europeans on this one.

the age limit where I live is 18, but I remember having a drink at 16. I think if your old enough to vote, work, leave school, get married and pay taxes then your old enough to drink too.

Age doesn't really come into the common sense consumption of it though, binge drinkers come in all ages.
