I've currently started making my own pizza. i've been eating more healthily for the last 5 weeks and lost a stone and 2 pounds. I just want to know if my home made pizza is going to damage my waist lol:
I use a wholemeal pitta bread for the base.
sauce made from blended tomatoes with garlic and herbs (could i use normal tomato puree if money gets tight?)
low fat mozzerella cheese. (light sprinkle)
peppers, mushrooms, low fat ham,
various toppings, all vegetable based.

Healthy or calorific - they are two different things. Which do you mean?
In that case, I can unequivocally say that pizza is healthy. Your question is an important one because occasionally in the media pizza is incorrectly associated with 'junk food' because it is labelled as a 'fast food'. This is a simple but breathtakingly silly mistake. Pizza made with quality ingredients as made in Italy is not only one of the great culinary creations but it is very good for you. Jasmine is spot on about the protein, vegetables and carbs. But more important is the monosaturated olive oil that significantly improves cholesterol ratios. The garlic is full of heath properties too. Indeed your pizza is particularly healthy because unlike traditional pizza which uses refined flour you are using a wholemeal base.
May I recommend a book - Nikko Amandonico's La Pizza, The True story from Naples. I think it will inspire you further and it has a lot of nice black and white photos of the city too!

Yes, that's perfectly healthy. It seems like you have a nice balance of whole grains, protein and vegetables. Yes, you can use regular tomatoe puree, but just check the can, sometimes they add nitrates and sugar to the cheaper brands. Also, it's probably not going to be as sweet if you just started 5 weeks ago, your getting fresh summer tomatoes until recently. If you are eating this more than once a week I would suggest adding more low fat high protein ingredients in this.
How about the same type recipe, but making a mock calzone. Fat free cottage cheese that you have drained and spiced with your veggies, garlic and herbs and whip up. You could add some turkey ham or turkey pepperoni to it and all your veggies. Spread this in the middle of your pita. Then add your sprinkle of cheese. You can dip this into your tomatoes. You will definitely up your protein count with no fat.

Wholemeal bread- tomatoes - garlic - herbs - peppers - mushrooms - vegetable based toppings - and you're asking if this is healthy? Er, yes.
Also, how on earth did Unreliable Source and Rickyboy get flagged for bad Answer? Unbelievable. Perhaps they ought to have recommended you getting a pack of lard and spreading that over as a topping instead.

Your pizza sounds fine. Yes, you can use tomato puree if you add a few spices for flavor. In fact, load up your pizza with the veggies and other topping with a light sprinkle of cheese to fill you up with a balanced meal.

Frozen pizza's may be less dense in calories but they still aren't considered 'healthy.' The sodium content is usually extremely high and there are a lot of preservatives. At least delivery pizza is somewhat 'fresh.' It's best to make your own; more satisfying and delicious.

It sounds delicious, and it has to be a lot better for you than doing the fast food thing. Sure, I suppose you can use tomatoe puree if money is tight, or you could go to a discount grocery store and simply buy a jar of low priced spaghetti sauce, it already comes seasoned and flavored, and it is very inexpensive.

Yes it's healthy but......
You could make it even healthier if you used no-fat mozzarella cheese (it's good) and use turkey ham or turkey pastrami instead of low-fat ham.
Buy the cans of spaghetti sauce with italian spices in it to save money.
