For some reason it's become important for mankind to turn man against God. Macro Evolution as crazy as it is is taught in schools worldwide. The years BC and AD become BCE and CE. People are easily brainwashed.

These articles seem to be centered around a study done by a single company, concerning small very specific Christian groups. Other than the Taiwanese article.
Great question BTW.
I believe a move towards much more mainstream protestant worship/belief accounts for a good amount of this studys results. Even in the evangelical circles, a move by more scientific minds is evident, relating better to a wider cross section of folks.

Extremists certainly don't help. If an example of christianity is the evangelicals, it could very easily drive people away from any form of christianity, especially if that's the only form of christianity someone has been exposed to. Then there's the catholic priests scandals, which sure isn't helping bring members to the catholic faith. Also, many colleges have religion classes taught by anti-religious people, who encourage the students to see all religious people as idiots. Its a growing trend of ridiculing anyone seen as religious, and young people are very gullible and buy into what they're told by their professors. College students want to appear intelligent, so admitting to belief in God gets them ridiculed and insulted. Basically, God just isn't cool anymore.

I was expecting it.

1 Timothy 4
1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.

2 Thessalonians 2:3
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first,

Simple.

Truth demands action. And if the truth is that (as a christian) you are not behaving as you should, then it demands that you change (a.k.a. "repent").

Changing or correcting your misguided life can difficult, and since we no longer live in a society that values morals, then it makes it all the easier to devalue your own beliefs.

To put it more simply: Christianity is shrinking because fewer people want to DO what Christ taught.

We're living in a society, especially in the US, where more and more people are recognizing the right for others to be 'different'. We no longer expect everyone to fit themselves into a neat little box -- its okay to fervently follow your own path when it comes to religion, sexuality, etc. I guess you could call it a revolution of sorts.

And in the midst of this revolution, Christianity makes itself look bigoted and hateful, by clinging to its old ideologies. So people are walking away from it, and looking for a path which offers more freedom.

slowly but surely the word is getting out that christianity does not work and that it is as repressive a system of religion as any other revealed religion that insists humanity needs to live according to its way or die. People are getting tired of the loud mouths protesting at funerals, screaming at abortion clinics, interferring in another person's life, religion is an embarrassment to humanity.

It is shrinking because people are busy too busy in our indulgent society to be religious or they don't find that christianity is open and relevant enough to meet there needs.
