I can't decide whether to laugh or cry.

What you propose has been tried many times in human history, always with disastrous results. The whole point of all the various Catholic Inquisitions was to compel everyone to believe the same religion. Millions died agonizing deaths while humanity's great *universal* faith was reduced to outright butchery and failed to achieve the impossible. Fascism attempted religious and social unification through mandatory conformity and the resulting world war slaughtered more than sixty-six million human beings. Do you imagine the Muslims and every other faith are just going to sit still for your tyrannical attempt at world domination?

Ethnic, social, and religious diversity is in the nature of humanity. Mandatory conformity is an evil of monstrous proportions. The problem with narrow minded bigots is that they never appreciate the value of freedom, nor do they ever respect the rights of others.

I'll just be happy if a small, but strident group of people who preach hatred and lies about LGBT people would own up to the truth, and stop calling themselves "christians," and instead call themselves "hypocrites."

The latter term is much more accurate.

And to answer your question: no, shoe-horning everyone into one religion will not solve the world's problems, but create more of them.

I have nothing against Christianity but ~ NO ~ the world would not be a better place if everyone were Christian or any one religion, philosophy, science, or organized system of belief.

How would we grow, learn and evolve if we didn't have stimulation to advance our minds/understanding?

No. Even when nearly everyone in a country is a Christian they murder each other for not following the right Christianity.

I'd like to be able to say "yes", but realistically the answer is "no". Christians have a tendency to accept what they are told and to think that "belief" is the same as fact.

This two things are extremely dangerous especially when combined together.

no. not at all. do you think the world would be a much better place if everyone looked alike, if all food tasted alike, if we all talked like robots and had no opinions.... if there was no spice to life? the world would be a much better place if people would accept other people's beliefs and opinions. you don't have to agree, you just have to accept.

no
the world is much better and much more interesting the way it is, with people of all different ethnicities, religions, etc.
if the whole world was made up of just christians, it would certainly be boring, there'd be nobody different

Jesus Christ taught us to love our neighbors. Can anyone argue that the world would not be a better place if we all followed this greatest commandment? I am a Catholic, which means I am a Christian above all else. I hope everyone can follow this teaching of Jesus, whether you are Christian or not.

no
you have to let other people have their view
i mean:
would it be better if everyone was made of grey putty and believed what they were told to believe, liked what they were told to like and followed each other? we're trying to engourage diversity here, not putty-fy everyone!
and if we were all the same, the music would be dull
and if we were all christian, who would you have to argue with?
