Slow-Cooked Chili
Serves 10
2 1/2 pounds ground beef
2 cans (16 ounces each) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 can hot chili beans
2 cans (8 ounces) tomato sauce
2 small onions, chopped
1/2 green pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tsp celery salt
1 heaping tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons salt, optional
1 teaspoon pepper
shredded cheddar cheese, optional
In a skillet, cook beef over medium heat, until no longer pink; drain.
Transfer to a slow cooker. Add the remaning ingredients. Cover and cook
on low for 8 to 10 hours or on high for 4 hours. Crack lid so it thickens as it cooks and turn on high the last two hours of cooking if using either method. Garnish individual
servings with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream and jalapeno's if desired.

You sound like hubby and the kids. I have to make our Chili really basic for them.
1 1/2 lbs. browned ground chuck
1 large can tomatoe juice
1 small can petite diced tomatoes
1 can Brooks Chili Mix.
Chili powder to taste
Brown the ground chuck-drain, add tomatoe juice, diced tomatoes (only use 1/2-2/3 can if you want less tomatoes) and Brooks Chili Mix. Let simmer. Add chili powder to taste.
Chili isnt chili without the tomatoes so if you use the petite diced and don't use the whole can, then you still can have great chili.
