HELP !!! I am being terminated tommorow , What should i do , to make myself look busy doing some work.
I work at this cold calling company , i have no idea what i am doing here . But i am making 14/hour . So Nice.Although it's not really nice because i have a degree in electrical and computer engineering , and i have huge amounts of loans to pay .
Today ( about 5-10 minutes ago ) my supervisor came over and told me "very nicely" - if i don't make a sale by tommorow then i will be let go .
So till tommorow evening i need to act and behave as if i need this job, when I have no clue what i am doing here , calling strangers, and getting yelled at . ( not really...but u know ) ..
hehe
So any advices ?
Thanks.

sounds like you don't want to be there anyway. it's a blessing in disguise, go use your degrees.

You don't "need to act and behave as if I need this job", you need to show your boss the results you were hired for. If you're making cold calls the only value you have to your company is by bringing in sales.
If you sincerely want to save your job, go into your boss' office right now and tell him you need a more effective way to market their product and possibly get some technical training on the product. Ask him if you can sit with their most successful telemarketer to learn their method.
If you're content to lose your job, keep goofing off on the computer.
Good luck.

There's a reason and purpose for everything, I believe there must be something better waiting for you...
My fiance got layed off from his job Wednesday, he promptly went to an employment agency where he had applied a few months earlier,.. he was placed the next day making twice the money!!!
Sign up with a temp agency or job placement agency, theres something better waiting for you, be patient

Assuming that you were provided with training on how to do your job, I would just accept the fact that some people are salespeople, and some aren't. If you feel that you weren't trained adequately, I would ask your boss if further training is available.
Start looking for a position that better fits your skills.

When they say "We are so sorry... but we are going to have to let you go. But we wish you the best of luck in the future!" Stand up and say "You can't fire me! I quit!" And walk out. You deserve more money anyways with a degree.

The very first thingyou do is file for unemployment comp. it's easy to do online.
it's a benefit you should be entitled to, and it is important to do it right away. They will have to investigate your claim, so it does take a few days. So, do that right away.
With luck, you won't need it.
Next step, update your resume.
good luck
