HAVE YOU EVER CONSIDERED TRUSTING THE BIBLE. instead of your
spiritual leader? (Matthew 7:15) . . . “Be on the watch for the false prophets that come to YOU
in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves.

(Acts 20:29-30) 29 I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among YOU and will not treat the flock with tenderness, 30 and from among YOU yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves. . .
(Colossians 2:8) . . .Look out: perhaps there may be someone who will carry YOU off as his prey through the philosophy and empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ;
(Matthew 23:8-10) . . .But YOU, do not YOU be called Rabbi, for one is YOUR teacher, whereas all YOU are brothers. 9 Moreover, do not call anyone YOUR father on earth, for one is YOUR Father, the heavenly One. 10 Neither be called ‘leaders,’ for YOUR Leader is one, the Christ. . .

nothing
the Catholic Church was once the "true" church, but over time has become corrupted, its best to find one with less corruption, a newer one :)
i must also say the Pope is not God, nor is he equal to God in any way, so how can he do away with Heaven, hell or any other thing? The pope is no better then any one else...
Lets see if this answer gets removed, i see lots of thumbs down, i wonder how many people reported me, just because i state my opinion, and that is all it is, it is the way i believe :)

You should read from responsible sources.
Heaven, hell, and purgatory are Catholic doctrines supported by Holy Scripture. Limbo is another story.
+ Heaven +
Heaven is eternal life with God; communion of life and love with the Trinity and all the blessed.
Heaven is the state of supreme and definitive happiness, the goal of the deepest longings of humanity.
+ Hell +
Hell is the state of complete and final self-exclusion from communion with God and the blessed, reserved for those who refuse by their own free choice to believe and be converted from sin, even to the end of their lives
No one really knows what hell is like. It has been described by people who have not been there as everything from flames to a frozen lake (Dante).
+ Purgatory +
Are you perfect now? Most people would say no.
Will you be perfect in heaven? Most people believe yes.
Purgatory (or purgation) is the process of God's love changing our imperfect selves into perfect beings.
Depending on the amount of change needed by different people this can be an easy or slightly harder process.
Everyone in purgatory is on their way to heaven.
I don't think Mother Teresa of Calcutta had a very hard time of it.

+ Limbo +
The Church has pondered the suggestion of Limbo for a few hundred years and has decided that it is not a good idea. Limbo was never official doctrine.
Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved." (Mark 16:15-16)
For centuries, people have wondered about children who died before they were baptized. The Bible does not explicitly state that they will go to heaven.
Limbo was suggested as the place where unbaptized babies went when they died. This idea was never official Church doctrine and has been rejected.
The Church now says that it is not sure what happens to unbaptized babies when they die but she entrusts them to the mercy of God.

+ With love in Christ.

Although I do trust and believe the Bible to be God's word and follow it as the truth, I do not believe it is fair to go to sources outside of the Catholic church for information on what Catholics believe and teach. I know for instance, that if anyone simply Googled the name of my religion, or my God they are likely to come up with all sorts of false and misleading web sites. In accordance with Christ command at Matthew 7:12, I would not look to these sources for information on their beliefs.

I read the 1st two articles you have linked and the assertions you and the authors make are laughable. The pope didn’t change anything. If you bother to read the catechism, he only restated what was already in the catechism and what has been taught and believed by the Church for the past 2,000 years. If you’re going to present material that tries to take out of context and/or twist the message of the pontiff, you’re going to have to do way better than that.
Do yourself a favor and follow the advice of Raven. Read the catechism and do some honest research if you want to know what the Church teaches. Might clear a few things up for you.
God bless.

For most Catholics, it means nothing. The concept of questioning has been bread out of them. The fact that most of those things mentioned were never in the Bible to begin with is also a proof of this.
As long as the person telling them what to do has a backwards collar or a funny looking hat, they are conditioned to obey. The truth of the Bible has nothing to do with it.

2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.
It's very important to go to the Bible for answers and not to a imperfect man.
The Church has alot of traditions.
Jesus said at Mat 15:6 he must not honor his father at all.’ And so YOU have made the word of God invalid because of YOUR tradition.
When you go beyond the scriptures as the scriptures tell us not to do, that's where we can get into trouble.
1 Cor 4:6 Now, brothers, these things I have transferred so as to apply to myself and A·pol´los for YOUR good, that in our case YOU may learn the [rule]: “Do not go beyond the things that are written,”
This is what happens when you go beyond the scriptures.

Where did you get ANY idea from what you posted that the Holy Father did away with Heaven, Hell or Purgatory? They exist.
Limbo however was never a doctrine of the Church, only a theological theory.
For the record, it will take someone better than you (and a lot of lousy links) to shake my faith in the One True Church of Jesus Christ.

Instead of going to numerous unofficial secular sources, why not just go straight to the true source? Maybe if you tried the Vatican's official website, or even a Catechism of the Catholic Church, you would actually have some idea of what you're talking about. Until then, it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it.

i find religions so confusing.. i dont know which one to believe in!! but i think that whoever is up there looking down on us has put this in front of us as a task to show ourselves and prove ourselves to be the best that we can be... by this i mean, like ALL the religions basically say the same thing
- be a good kind peron, and be generous
- be well mannered and respect your family members and those around you
- to be happy with what you have and have been given
blah balh blah etc.
you know whats good and whats bad lol
so i think that if we follow all these "golden rules" and be good people on earth, whoever is up there will ahve mercy on us and send us to a good place when we have died (even though i am s*** scared of life ending!!) :) xxxxxxx
