...the doctors and nurses measure, weigh and test nearly everything imaginable but the baby's soul. WHY do they ignore the poor thing's soul?? Could they be sued over this?

That's because the secular community has forbidden doctors from measuring souls. It's a restriction on our religious freedom and I for one won't stand for it anymore! What do we want? SOUL STATISTICS! When do we want them? NOW!

I don't think a person can sue a doctor for not measuring a baby's soul. I can see two things wrong with that plan. 1) A soul is not something easily quantifiable. Science still hasn't been able to prove its existence. Doctors and nurses (while they may be spiritual individuals) have scientific professions, and their practices reflect that. 2) There are a lot of very important tests that need to be done quickly when a baby is born. As soon as it is determined that the baby is healthy, the child is given to the mother (and sometimes even sooner). The health professionals have determined that the baby is breathing on his own and his immediate physical needs are met. A mother's (and father's) job is to raise the baby, to look after his well-being and to take care of his soul. It is my belief that a soul is MUCH older than a person's body, including a baby's. I'm pretty sure that all souls go into life knowing that the first few hours moving from womb to mom's arms are pretty tough and have prepared themselves for a little ignoring in the first couple minutes outside the birth canal.

It's my understanding that when a person dies, they are lighter than they were in life -- speculation is that the soul leaves the body and therefore the person is lighter. Of course, bodily fluids are excreted so that could also account for the weight loss. (Would you consider your excrement to be your soul?) So, since there is no real part of the body that could singularly be called a soul, it cannot be measured at birth. A person or a baby would have to die in order to determine if the soul had any weight.

Can you sue God? How can you measure a soul to be weighed when there is no part of the human body that is labeled a soul -- no tangible part of the human body, that is.

Ah, but they have no way of testing or measuring a baby's soul. And even if they did, most religious groups would be up in arms if they tried. No, let God see to their soul. It is not the province of doctors.

If they found a way to measure or weigh the soul, then we could talk. They could not be sued over it. Your case would (hopefully) be laughed to scorn and thrown out of court.

You talk of the soul as if it is a possession, or something that can be taken away, a Soul cannot be taken away from you, You do not have a Soul, You are a Soul.

The only way to measure someone's soul is to cut it out. You bring the scissors, I'll bring the know-how. Let's do this!
