i don't know ur boyfriend sweety... i don't really know what he likes/dislikes... the only thing i can tell u is to think about what he really likes, or something he really enjoys doing... i don't know, maybe if he likes playing baseball, u could.... either play baseball with him for a bit, after go take a shower get urself all dressed up and stuff, go 4 a romantic movie, and then have that wonderful cake he loves. or u could buy a couple of tickets if tehre's an important baseball game there... the point is... i don't really know what he likes doing or what things/objects he likes... try 2 get him or do something with him that he enjoys and then have a romantic evening... u know him better than us... so u give him something he enjoys... im sure he'll love it more if it comes from u.

When me and my ex had our one year.. and I was 18 and he was 19 I made him a surprise picnic in the livingroom floor. It was pretty cute.
I laid a checkered blanket down, put all the food on there, baked a heart shaped cake with i love u on it.. and put candles all around. It was really cute.. and we had fun. We already lived together though so it was easy to do it while I had the house to myself during the day while he was at work.

What are his hobbies?
If he love sports, then you should get him something sports-related. A lot of guys are big on sports and would love sports-related parephernalia such as baseball cards or a signed football.
Perhaps if he is a musicy type, you could get him a CD or an iTunes gift card.
Maybe you could get him something that will remind him of you (of course this would apply to a lot of things since you guys have been going out for almost a year.)
I hope this helps you out

Bake him a cake, nothing else. After all, there is really nothing here to celebrate you have just been friends for a year, big deal, you probably have underwear older than that. Six months after you get out of school he probably won't even remember your name anyway.

I'm not very big on giving gifts for every little anniversary. I think the cake you're making him would be sufficient. If you want to do more, make him his favorite dinner, too.

Something you baked specifically for me would have far more meaning than any store-bought trinket. Same goes for a hand written note as opposed to a pre-printed card.
You might do him one better and cook an entire dinner for him.

the cake is perfect since it comes from the heart, don't worry about it! throw in a card with a really sexy message in it too.
