Yes prayer works It really does. There are many events in my life that have occurred and I needed him very badly he has always came through for me. People who say prayer doesn't work are the ones who pray for what they want, and God never gives us what we want he ALWAYS gives us what we need. Prayer without faith is just words....Also God helps those who help themsleves so you can't get pisst if you prayed for a job and you didnt get it cuz you never go off your lazy butt to go look for one. Or you prayed your horrible life would stop being so horrible and yet you dont do anything to improve. You need to do the footwork and God will make all esle possible

It all depends what you mean by 'work'.

Obviously, it doesn't get concrete physical results in this world. Just look at all the wars and genocides.
Jews prayed for salvation on the way to the gas chambers.
Christians prayed to be saved before they were forced out to face the lions in the arena in Ancient Rome.

It DOES work as a deep phsychological relaxant. It brings a (false?) sense of security. Prayers give many people the feeling that they have 'made amends' and in some way purified themselves.

If you believe in it then it will 'work' in some way for you.

Yes it does.

It just doesnt work in the way people assume it works... See, those that pray actually think it is God that is responding, when in reality prayer is just a form of meditation that unlocks the practitioner's inner power and allows them to obtain what it is they pray for... Prayer works only to affect change in the person praying - not anyone else. That has been proven countless times via studies.

Yes, praying does work. I know because I have prayed and had my prayers answered.

yes! What every I prayed for about 99% of the time I see change.
Ex:
My wife and baby almost die when she was giving birth and I, my pastor and the church all prayed and the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY change the out come. Now I have both of the to enjoy.

God always answers sometime we are the one's who don't take the time to hear Him.

Prayers are the tool of the religion.it is for the people who incapable to think and inquire and reason to investigate and verify the validity of their own existence.

Whatever good or bad happens spontaneously whether you pray or not. But it helps the weaker mind to to think there is god and cast the burden on their belief of god.

When your own self is not the physical body but the spirit. then how can the prayer will work when you are thinking your self is physical body and praying as a person.

The god is your soul or the spirit. Cast the burden on your true identity that is the spirit, and you go free. Therefore it is necessary to know your own self to know prayers will not work, because you are using your physical identity which is not Self.

It depends what you believe prayer to be.

My prayer is Spiritual Mind Treatment. It involves controlling my brain. Using my brain to think POSITIVELY about things - and seeing them in the way that is best.

I don't pray for things - (like a new car - or money - etc.). I pray for virtues - like strength, compassion, clarity - etc. Those things are God qualities - and since I am a child of God - I have them. And then - KNOWING that I have the ability to use my brain in order to possess those things - I think about how grateful I am - and go forth with my strength.

Yes - It works.

I did and does for me. We have to have Faith though. I prayed that my blood count would go down and it had to go down over night, it was seriously High- I mean out-rageously the Doctors were so shocked the next day they Had to admit it took a Miracle from some Divine intervention for this to happen the way it did. Everyone was shocked. It was so high they all said there would be no way it would go down to the point we needed it to be by the next day! What a Shocked bunch of People. That's one reason I chose to be a Nurse. I'm seeing more and more Doctors believing in God today more than ever before.

I believed that most of my prayers were answered though not in the way I expected but I start doubting if everything was mere psycological effects and coincidences.
I ask myself why God who is believed to be so loving makes the simple thing of 'communicating with him' so confusing and uncertain.

Yes, of course.

But you have to know what you are asking for i.e. clear and unambigious .....

Prayers are answered often in a way that is best for you and at the time that is best for you or a result that takes time to mature, which may not be immediate - it is according to God, not you, and if he thinks you deserve it!
