I feel I should clarify I'm atheist, purely because some people seem to be assuming I'm religious.

Please don't let my personal views affect your answer, I really just would like to see a little acceptance in BOTH directions!

We could, but people are having a hard time understanding that morals should not be made into laws.

Then there is that problem with not understanding what science is, how it works and why creationists and ID-ers are actually presenting fake claims. It would not be so bad except, they don't understand that it can not be taught as science, nor should it be taught at all. It would be ok to believe that god created the world and to teach creation as religion, but not the blatant falsehoods that creationists use.

I would love to see a little understanding on both sides. I firmly believe that if "you" don't go around trying to shove your God down my throat then I won't try to shove my Goddess down your. I don't understand why we can't just be friends and not have to agree on this topic.

A persons belief system is personal, and no one has the right to tell someone that its wrong.

Sadly, no. There are always people out there that are intolerant--that believe the sword is an acceptable way to govern and rule--be it for religion or power or the like.

Probably not. Hell, most people can't even get along with the relatives at Thanksgiving for 3 hours.

Man on the physical plane is not intended to enjoy a plane of peace. The physical plane is a plane of action, of controversy and of trial and error. We are here to discover who, what and why we are. This plane is ruled by the MIND, and it is of duality. Of Yin and Yang. This is a plane of conflict, suffering, grief, and struggle.

Those who would seek otherwise are seeking what cannot be on this plane. Certainly a youthful desire to want to live peacefully, but one that cannot be demonstrated to exist historically... save for a few for a while. The whole point of this plane is to engender an intense desire to exit this plane for one that is of Peace.... and this is the first step in seeking God as ones solution.

An atheist is one whose next step is that of agnostic, or one who honestly does not know. Eventually one moves to surrender of ones Ego and will... which leads to the beginnings of enlightenment. When the pain is sufficient ones Soul cries out to God, and that Soul is heard.

Anyone who is content and happy with this plane should be thankful... for pain, discord, and conflict are on their way. Only those with few incarnations under their belt seek to "just get along". The point of "life" is to discover that this is not ones Home, not to seek to be comfortable here.

Death is but the end of one life, not the end of ones lives on this plane. In the East, "life" is referred to as the "wheel of eighty-four". Eight million four hundred thousand forms which one can inhabit as needed to grow ones experience of this plane. In the West, we are quite naive regarding what the purpose of life is.....

We can choose to disagree or agree and still go on loving each other. Why not?
