As an example.

For the same reason He had to die and descend into hell: He had to experience everything we go through, even dispair and suffering and alienation.

That way He made our suffering holy and He made all flesh blessed and good and capable of sharing in His divinity.

Jesus was baptized because He was to be our example and show that we were to get baptized a sign of our new life in Him. The virgin Mary was human and was not sinless, she was just like any other human and not some kind of god. Church tradition has added that in that Mary was sinless but its simply not true. She was just someone who followed God and tried to do right and was humble. Christ is the only one who has never sinned according to the Bible. The BIble never said Mary was sinless anywhere.

Mary (not a virgin any more) is a sinner.

she had to have Jesus as a saviour just as you and me

She is as vile to God as Hitler was.

Jesus paid for her sins too.

You cannot pray to a sinner.

If she is in heaven she is worshiping Jesus not caring about you.

Jesus is God. Mary is a creation of God.

Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen

The baptism of Jesus on the Jordan was the institution of the sacrament of baptism. He was baptized so we would be baptized. In baptism we, with the water, are cleansed from original sin, the sin we inherited from Adam and Eve. Jesus is, as you said, without sin. It was He who was cleansing and sanctifying the water not the other way around. Also, His baptism was His induction into His public life (ministry) as baptism is our induction into the Church.

the only one who was completely sinless was Jesus, he was baptized to set the example, to fulfill prophecy :)
to be "born again" in name of the Father and the Holy Ghost

we are now baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
