i just had to ask, why the repetetive questions?
Don't you think many atheists are familiar with the bible, perhaps even know it better than some Xians?
We know your stories, and we see flaws in them..
Why throw advanced science questions back at us? And in the R&S section no less, science questions belong in the science section, god questions belong in the R&S section...

lucky, you CAN read something without commiting it to memory...i've read far more interesting books (and less wordy, i hate it when they can't just get to the point) than the OT and NT, and didn't commit them to memory either

I've also read english translations of the Qu'ran and the Torah in my religious search, but have commited neither to memory...again very wordy, and not incredibly interesting

Then I went to college, and learned how thing really worked, my first year of basic newtonian physics refuted half of the old testament...and it was a lower division course...

I can't read her questions since she has them hidden as private but doesn't she realize there are plenty of stories in the OT that are scientifically impossible? Oh, how does science help explain using a witch to raise the dead like Jesus did with Lazarus? He had been buried so I doubt they were confused as to whether the guy was dead or just really sick.
To Lucky...I know there are plenty of college grads and professors who have studied the Bible plus other religious texts for years and can see the improbability of it all. In fact, there's this author (Bart Ehrman) who went to three different colleges (one was Moody (alma mater of Billy Graham) the other was Princeton); he memorized the Book of Mark in Greek and guess what he wrote? 'Misquoting Jesus' plus other atheistic books. Richard Dawkins graduated from Oxford and is a Professor at Berkley.
Obviously reading and memorizing the Buy-bull isn't what makes you Christian or not. It's reading comprehension.

What do you know? Adam and Eve, Noah, all the typical Bible stories Atheists like to regurgitate? Do you know who Asa is, or Jehosephat, or Jereboam, or Elisha, or Omri, or Leviathan, Behemoth, or maybe Nabal? Do you know the remote details that emerge from years and years of going over that book with a fine - toothed comb? Please come back and visit me when you've really read the Bible and done an academic reading at that.
Tell me who the people, things, etc. I listed are and in what book they appear without cheating and I'll be willing to believe you.
You're dodging my challenge, but that's fine. Many of those folks I named are key players in certain books of the Bible and if you don't remember them, and the important roles they played, then I can't believe you've studied anything. Sorry.

Well, some people do think it's important to discipline the young more harshly than others. And after all, upstarts need to be slapped down occasionally.
