A lesson to be learned here - NEVER buy ready prepared salad that tells you ' no need to wash'. I'd never trust it.
Ask Sainsbury for a letter of confirmation of what you've found in the salad, before letting them have it.
I too would be wary of it 'getting lost'

you should contact your local paper and get them to put a story in it for you because u don't want anyone to actually eat it especially not a young child. and there should be a contact address on the back of the packaging. you should get in contact with them. You should also try and get in touch with the health and safety officers and they will take it further. But it all depends on weather it was animal or human faeces and if the salad was pre-washed. because if it was animal faeces and it wasn't pre-washed nothing will happen.

You MUST contact your local environmental health department! They need to investigate this thoroughly. If you send anything to Sainsburys make sure you send it recorded delivery! Also write to the Managing Director of Sainsburys stating what you found and the fact that it could have severely compromised the health of your small child. (they should offer some compensation then ;-) )
Bear in mind though - always wash even ready prepared salad - ive found caterpillars in mine!

Take Photos of it I don t know if you could ask sainsburys for the address of where they would check it and if they would give you it send it special delivery. I would ring your local enviromental health place for advice before i did anything they may want to check it out themselves.
This sort of thing should not happen you shouldn t have to worry every time you eat your salad

Either report them to trading standards - you don't profit but its for the greater good or you blackmail Sainsbury's with by threatening to tell the process - they might offer you free salad with faeces for life in return.

If this is real, then you should probably be more than compensated for the price of the bag....a call from the chairman would be nice. As a side note, just because it says prewashed doesn't mean it's completely pure, always wash greens.

Serves you right, not everyone can afford to buy ready made salad, if you had bought individual salad items you would have had to wash and prepare it yourself, you`ll know in future won`t you!

You can, if you like, sue the supermarket for breach of health and safety that could harm your health. Take em to court if its money youre after, you will almost certainly win. Otherwise, do what they say but you want proof that it has gone for 'analysis'
