Many years ago my wife left me. I believed that prayer would bring her back to me, which it never did. I felt that God betrayed me. After all, I prayed & attended church regularly in order for Him to repair my marriage. I blamed Him. Months later, I met a woman that I have been married to for 14 years. I now know that God doesn't always give us what we think we need but rather what He knows we need. As I look at the paths the lives of my ex-wife & I have taken, I feel truely blessed. The Lord knew that we weren't right for one another.
You don't always have to understand His plan, just believe that it is what He knows is best for you.
Hope this helps.

I have sometimes felt that there is either something wrong with me or other people are just full of it because I have never had that "blessing from God" everyone talks about. But then I look around me and see my two beautiful children and my wonderful husband and know that I have been blessed. I have been told that God put us on this earth for a reason, and I am lost because I don't know if I have a reason or what the reason that I am here is for. I try to have patience with God's answers to my questions. Sometimes when things go wrong, it is supposed to be that way. Imagine that you got exactly what you thought you wanted, and it turned out that that is really not what you wanted at all.
I think my life would be greatly different without God. With the knowledge that God exists and that I believe in his power, I make it a point to try and live as pleasing to God as I can. Without God in my life, who knows what I would be doing and what consequences I would be living through from the choices that I had made.
I like to take quite time to myself and think about what in my life I could not live without. Most likely, those things are blessings from God that you never realized were blessings.

I've never felt like I've given up on God. But, you have to learn and accept that things aren't going to go your way.....things are going to go as God planned.
I've never felt that with/without God my life wouldnt be different. I already know how it was before I was saved and since being saved, I've lived a much much better life only because God was involved.
Whenever you're in doubt or have worries, or thoughts you don't know the answers to, just pray. Ask for strength, courage & wisdom. If it's God's will, you'll get what you pray for.
Good Luck!

You have to realize that God does things on His own schedule and not ours . If you pray and ask God for something , you should thank Him after the prayer just as if it will be done . This is faith . Allow God to answer it when He sees fit .
As for feeling you have given up on God and things don't go as you planned ; Satan is alive and well here on Earth . It is his plan to discourage you by any means possible, any which God will allow . He was allowed to use many forces against Job to make him a non-believer, but only what God would allow him to use . Keep your faith and rebuke satan . God will protect you and , although He already knows your heart, you will know your own heart better.
We are so used to living in an ' instant ' world that we forget to let God do things His way .
Pray about this situation and ask God to help you understand and be patient . When I first read the Bible I read through it ( all of it ) with the purpose of only leraning what I could and not analyzing it . The next time I read passages I ask God to lead me to scripture He thought I needed to read and to let me understand . You will be surprised how the Bible ,written so many years ago , answers so many things in today's world .
God Bless You

Yes I have dealt with those feeling and I am still currently dealing with them. Rememer that what you want and what you plan in the flesh is not what God has already written in eternity for your life. If you feel that things won't change I just take it as a loss of faith. A large part of being a Christian is having great faith. Believing in God and his power is hard to do because he is not as evident as he was when Moses was out there parting the Red Sea. Give in to his will and watch him work in your life. Also remember that Faith without works is dead. Don't just sit back and expect God to do it all. YOU have to do something in order for him to help you. Pray for strength, Faith, and ask God to show you what do do in order to get started. You have to do what you can to get things back on the right track.
Blessings.

My life would be completely different without God, I'm the person I am today because of Him and I can only imagine who I would be without Him. When I was young my parents came to know the Lord and it changed their lives and the lives of others taking into their home those who needed them most, young people, who were in trouble with drugs and crime and still loving them, showing them love and teaching them the Word. Once growing into my own faith, I realize that I need Him more than anything and when I get down and bad things happen, the world starts to look bleak, and I'm finally at the point of wanting to give up he shows Himself to still be right there with me to help me when I need it, even(and especially) when I don't deserve it because I've disobeyed Him. He shows me that He loves me no matter what.
The way to deal with your doubt is to associate with other (true) Christians, and to read, pray, and worship Him as if you didn't feel that way. This is one of the reasons that praise is mentioned as a sacrifice in the Bible, because sometimes you really really, don't feel like worshipping Him, but God is good on both the sunny and rainy days. So give Him praise and I can promise you will feel better afterward.

I dealing with these feelings right now. I want God and Jesus in my life so badly, I can feel Him sometimes, but other times He's missing. I currently am open to other religions that believe in a almighty God, sadly, I have doubts that the Christian God is the correct God, the one that will help me. In my mind I know He is there but I fail to hear Him and I don't know if it is because of me, or because of Him. I pray everyday, I ask for His guidance. I have come back and forth between God and doubt. I can't wait to feel loved by my God 100% of the time, to know He is there.
I have talked to my pastor, and he is helping me do what He thinks is best. I talk with others about our relationships. But before I came to experience God in my life, My life was so much more different. It is so much better when God is standing next to you.

1) just because it has not turned out as I planned or wanted
(as it does sometimes), does not mean that it will not turn
out BETTER in the end than I planned or wanted (this is
a great spiritual principle in the Word). I have seen God
do abundantly above all I ask or think and continue to
expect that (things that are "in opposition" are temporary
and can be overcome) - we may need extra insight when
things don't go our way, but it IS available!
2) I know for a fact that my life would be very different
without God (via my experiences) - no doubt about that!
I hope that helped.

Yes, at one time after my baptism I had made a promise to God that I would quit smoking cigarettes. Such a promise was broken shortly after and I felt as though I had given up on Him. Everytime I break a commandment I feel as though I have given up on Him a little.
Without God in my life, I would have a lot less hope. The joy that having God in my life is something that I have lived without before. While some people can live a very fulfilling life without God, I find that I can not.

I think all Christians question why bad things happen to good people. God answers all prayers, the answers are "yes," "no," and "not right now." He wants to be glorified. If he can be glorified by answering your prayer, yes, then He will be glorified in it. If He will be glorified by saying, no, then He will also be glorified. Why should it be important to God, and us, that He be glorified above all?... Because He is glorified by each new soul and each new heart won to eternal life. His purpose is that no soul should be lost. He will use whatever situation you are in for His glory. Seek His will in these trying circumstances. You may not find it right away, it may be many years, or never. I find that most of the time, looking back and reflecting, after days, months, sometimes years later, I can see what His intent may have been. But everything that happens is for good and for His glory.
