In the book of Revelations in the Bible, it says that there will be a 1000-year reign of satan before Christ returns. Things are pretty bad now, what with so-called "global warming", poverty and impending scarceness of fossil fuels and natural resources. Are we in the Age of the Devil? Or does such a thing even exist?

This period is actually called the 1000 year rule of Christ. The 7 years preceding this is known as the tribulation period - which will be much much worse than now. At the end of the 1000 years Satan will be loosed for a little time and will lead the peoples of the earth into the Battle of Armageddon. Satan will loose the Battle. After this the faithful to God will live in the New Jerusalem.

'Bad' things have happened all throughout history. Over a thousand years ago, Europeans didn't even know about the natives in the America's (North & South) and I'm not sure when the Chinese were aware of people in Europe or the America's. Back then human life was good for slavery or sacrifice. Many died from all kinds of diseases or infections and any 'medical' knowledge was a joke by todays standards. There were religions in existance and abundance that worshipped the good and bad. Education of any type was not at all common and the human life span was short.
Even though things aren't perfect now, they were never that great to begin with.

Indeed we are, and theres much evidence right here on Y/A. In the age of satan, many more will not believe in Christ and also try very hard to cast doubt in your mind. Doubt alone will send you to hell. Satan works through these people and they don't even know it, but one day they will, only it will be much too late to turn back. I was told many years ago that all these things that are happening now, are going to happen. Technology will advance so quick that new will be old in a short time, which is happening right now, and in general people will be so caught up in worldly goods that they will not even notice whats really going on. Also, satan will take and turn everything good around, such as gay marriage, and gay in general. The Bible speaks against that. Our children are not taught anymore about God and if they are they are getting such poor information that they become what most people on here are, athiests who think if they choose not to believe then they won't have to deal with it. They are all in for a very rude awakening. What I don't understand is throughout the Bible it tells the things that are going to happen and people still choose to think its all a coincidense.

Yes, you could say that as according to the Bible, anyone that is not with God is with satan. Even that nice old couple down the street that don't believe in God but treat everyone great. It's not the bad things that tell you but more the supposed harmless or good things of the "world" that are associated with satan. Worldly activities that are thought of as OK to the Godless are actually what satan is involved with.

We are also in a time of grace where everyone is given a chance to choose.

Global warming has nothing to do with religion, poverty has always been part of humanity and the problem is not the lack of fossil fuels and natural resources... but the human tendency to not share. Few people are very rich, many are very poor.... that's the way it has always been. Just because the numbers on the calendar changed doesn't mean that the nature of humans has changed.

KC im not gonna make fun of you for bringing this up.
maybe we are in the age of satan, maybe we're not. but either way, global warming, poverty, impending scarceness have all been happening, we are just more aware of it now.
i would say that the age of satan doesn't exist, probably because im not christian and i'd like to think that my generation isn't doomed.

hope this helps.

If you will reread you will find that after the 1,000 year reign of Christ ( not Satan ), Satan will be released from his prison, and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth...... Rev. 20:7 NASB

This is still in the future, we are now in the last days.

No. We're just in the age of irresponsible stupid humans, who don't know when to quit when they're ahead. and just ruin the Earth more and more everyday with careless pollution, corrupt governments and war.
No Satan included. Never was. Satan isn't a puppet master. There are just bad people who do bad things, without the influence of an other-worldly being.

History can tell you that religion was the first form of government and indeed the first structure of laws, over time our society, not all society but western society has lost the use of religion and now it's just become a way to distract us from reality which for most people sucks, I mean that's why some people smoke, drink, inject heroin, watch soap operas etc.

I used to like to lie on my back and look at the clouds and see if I could "see" animals or faces

Same thing with the Book of Revelation. You can "see" pretty much anything you want to. My advice? Ignore that book and spend some serious time with the four gospels. More than enough good and clear stuff there to keep you busy for the rest of your life.
