As for Paul The Apostle, one of his many biblical titles is notably a faithful "steward" of the "mysteries".
As such, his epistle format opens and closes with grace, but sandwiched in between is the meat of the matter, the discussion of law vs law & law vs grace;
always concluding grace over law law and law vs law, which is loser vs loser.

As a general rule, contradictions in the NT come from the fact that Paul says different things than the actual disciples of Jesus said.

As one example, see here:

Whenever Paul contradicts what the disciples said, Christians ought to disregard Paul and pay attention to what the disciples recorded about what Jesus taught.

Matthew 10:34, Jesus came to claim that which is his own, those who believe in him as the Christ, and to defeat satan.
Satan works through all of us, if we let him, so if you are not a believer in Christ, even though you may not be following satan intentionally, he is working through you and you won't be accepted by Christ if you do not believe and except him. For those of us who have accepted him, we find controversy every where we go when we share that belief openly, especially with family if they are non-believers. So if you are going to follow him, stand firm in the faith because satan will be on your heels. Jesus did bring peace, we need to accept it, he has a sword for those who do not. Your either for him, or against him.
