Because in the ten commandments it says, "Thy shalt not kill.", but humans need to kill to survive or they'd die of starvation(I don't mean other people, I mean we have to kill plants and animals), so doesn't that mean God makes mistakes just like anyone else.

Humans never wrote the ten commandments they were found carved into to stone tablets by God.

Actually Tom E Jesus did commit one sin in his life, in one story in the bible Jesus lost his temper when he saw a market in the Temple and even though Jesus' intentions were good he commited one of the seven deadly sins.

No God doesn't make mistakes. In the commandments God was referring to not killing other people - He had already said they could kill animals to eat and cloth themselves. Incidently, after Adam and Eve sinned in the garden it was God that made their clothes out of animal skins.

Kill in this verse means murder. The rest of the book of Leviticus and also in Deuteronomy give further rules of law concerning manslaughter, self-defense, capital punishment, etc. It obviously didn't mean don't kill animals or plants because also in those chapters are elaborate instructions for performing ritual animal sacrifices that the Lord required.

People were smart enough then to figure out the difference and didn't try to find loopholes with semantics. It's also most likely that in the original Hebrew language the commandment was stated more like "Do not commit murder."

I don't agree that God makes mistakes. He allows humans to have free choice, and he allows the devil free rein in the world, and the mistakes that are made are either because of our sin or someone else's creating ripple-effect consequences or because of our inability to comprehend the Almighty God.

On the contrary, I find it amazing and inspiring that the truths of the Bible remain true and applicable for us thousands of years later. Those who can't see that are the ones making a mistake.

The verse is more accurately translated, "Thou shalt not murder."

This is consistent with God's diection elsewhere in the Bible...we can eat any food, the Israelites needed to sacrifice, Christ had to die for our sins, etc.

God makes no mistakes. The mistake is yours...a mistake in translation.

By the way, the 10 Commandments were not "found" by man. The Bible clearly states in Ex. 31:18 that "...He [God] gave Moses the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written by the finger of God."

God is perfect, and therefore He cannot make mistakes. We are told that Though shalt not kill, and yes, we do need to in order to survive. However, the literal translation from Aramaic reads "Thou shalt not murder", which is a different thing entirely, and presumably, makes allowances for troops and people involved in mortal combat, murder is also not the same as manslaughter, so I would think that if you killed someone by mistake or in order to protect your family, that God would not see this as a sin. But the translation is definately Thou shalt not murder, not thou shalt not kill.

No God does not make mistakes...Its man who does.

Here are the 10 commandments & its says do not Murder & Not Kill! so man could eat animals.

The Ten Commandments Are (Deuteronomy 5) as follows:

7) "You shall have no other gods before me.

8) "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
9) "You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
10) "But showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

11) "You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

12) "Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the LORD your God has commanded you. 13 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 14 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor the alien within your gates, so that your manservant and maidservant may rest, as you do. 15 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the LORD your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the LORD your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.

16) "Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

17) "You shall not murder.

18) "You shall not commit adultery.

19) "You shall not steal.

20) "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

21) "You shall not covet your neighbor's wife. You shall not set your desire on your neighbor's house or land, his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."

22) These are the commandments the LORD proclaimed in a loud voice to your whole assembly there on the mountain from out of the fire, the cloud and the deep darkness; and he added nothing more. Then he wrote them on two stone tablets and gave them to me

No. That's a human mistake - and the question and answer are all about human interpretations and translations. God is perfect and is incapable of doing and being anything but.

NO! People make mistakes, but not God. Jesus never sinned, for He is God incarnate. Our job on Earth is to grow towards God, serving Him for all eternity. End of sermon.

God does not make mistakes............humans do..we are given free will etc and people end up making wars ....bombs and even bad feeling amongst each other.
I dont believe in hell ,I believe we come down to learn lessons .
we choose............our paths but typically we look to blame for are own actions and thoughts on some one .
that is my perception and no way do i may comment on how others feel about any religion.

No, dear one, God doesn't make mistakes, He is perfect. "Thou shalt not kill" refers to other humans, not animals. We have been given dominion over the animals.

God bless!
