if the only mediator between God and man is Jesus? I personally do not think you understand the teaching of the body of Christ if you do not understand this. St. Paul and the Apostles and us even now in the Catholic family and ALL of those validly baptized ARE the body of Christ here on Earth. IT IS CHRIST WHO IS THE MEDIATOR WHO DOES THE WORK THROUGH US. (Didn't a woman touch the hem of his garment for healing?)

And Peter's shadow, etc...

Great question!

First, it was Peter, not Paul. (additional comment: oops - was it Paul, after all? My mistake. sorry :-( )

Second, it was an act of faith - a point of contact, like laying hands on the sick that they may recover.

The handkerchief didn't heal, faith in God and His healing power upon contact with the handerchief is what instantiated the healing. Jesus heals, nobody and nothing else.

(I'm not discounting doctors. They can work, but they will admit that they don't actually heal. In fact, I thank God for doctors and the work they do.)

A MEDIATOR has to do with salvation. Jesus is the one and only mediator. Healing is something altogether different.
