I can understand the sex and companionship stuff, I am going through a break up my self right now. However from the sounds of it that guy is bad news and will only end up hurting you eventually. There will be other guys no need to waste your time with him. Plus being single offers you a chance to focus on yourself and what you want to do in life.

I am in the same boat as you. I say ROW!!!!!!!! Far away from him. He is never going to put you first. My husband is also a drug/alcohol abuser. His priorities don't include me. I have finally left him. You need to hang with friends and family and get through this. You will find someone who will fulfill the emptyness. Sex, affection and companionship can be replaced. Good luck.

You're true happiness is the only thing that matters. You must look out for number one. You could be missing out on a real relationship with actual benefits because you're afraid of change.. I mean are you planning on marring him... didn't think so. It's time to snip, snip, snip, for real-for real! Have a nice day!

Dump him and find someone else that doesn't do drugs and booze. That said it's easier for women,I guess.I was divorced 15 years ago but I have been alone and celibate for the last 4 years and it really sucks being alone.Good luck.

finish what? he's a drug and alcohol abuser? I say finish nothing with him and find somebody who are not these things. It's better to be lonely(than to be with somebody like him) because you will never do better as long as he's with you and holding you back from being with Mr. Right.

never stick with a gf/bf for your own benefit. There are plenty of fish in the sea and if you're not happy change it. You'll learn to survive on your own, it's going to happen eventually so y suffer till then when you can take care of business now.

what?! forget it. Never stay with someone for such shallow affections.
Who says you won't find someone else? Why affraid of being lonely? The longer you stick with such awful relationship the more difficult it will get to finish it in the future.

Alcohol abusers are bad!! Get out of the relationship before he does something really stupid while drunk. You can find someone that will treat you right if you get out of this un-healthy relationship.

No, leave him.
You mention he's all this and that, just think that you won't be much better than him if sex and companionship are the only reasons why you're with him.

Of coursen you should break up with him if you are unhappy. He drinks plus abuses drugs, that is not a good boyfriend. Find someone who doesn't do illegal stuff and will care for you enough and be smart enough to know that they can't do stuff like that.
