Hello. For my 18th birthday I was gonna go and get my lip pierced, the only problem is that my job does not allow them in the work place. He said I could get a holder but there's the whole healing process. I wanted to know if there was any actual risk of anything if after I got the lip ring I'd take it out every day and put a holder in it's place. Is that a risk for infection or something? Thanks

you'd increase the healing time, and risk of infection and rejection, if you changed it twice a day (even if it's healed - i had my eyebrow pierced, my new job didn't like it, and although it was healed, because i took it out each day it migrated out)

ask your piercer if you can get it done with a glass retainer, rather than a titanium piece - this will be less visible. otherwise it needs to heal completely before you change it

not if you clean it. i did it with my tounge ring and my tounge was fine. I just dont see why you would want that.
