well one time out of curiousity I bought a cat video, one of those stupid things with birds, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, and squirrels on it. I left it on with a web cam watching them so I could see what the cats would do while I was gone. Funny thing is I had5 of the 7 dogs (the others have to be kenneled for anxiety) sitting infront if it watching and dominanting Living room space. I was hysterical. When the birds chirpped and sang my normally, nuerotic, overly submissive, Coonhound X Peekaboo would get up there and Bay like she was on a hunt. Then Siggy my Cane/Pitt mix, feeling she was in danger would get up and run around the house seeing where the danger was, but finding none would come back and look at the others and her like they were insane. The Cats took refuge on the back of the couch and you could see they were itching to get close to the tv but the dogs were land mines for them. It was a very hilarious situation. It became local tv for our shelter and people started to want links to it. It got old after a while but still fun to watch occasionally.

My dog will look at the tv on occasion but if there is a dog on the tv she will run up to it and wag her tail. If the dog on the tv barks she will bark back. She also notices cats occasionally but I think everytime there is a dog on the tv she sees it.
Sorry about the rudeness it is getting a little crazy around here. It would be nice if everyone was mature enough to take criticism along with compliments.

My Boxer I have now is the first one that paid attention to the TV for anything more than half a second. Since we got him as a puppy, he's always been attracted to anything with bright colors and lots of movement. We don't have kids but we'll leave Nickelodeon on if we're in other parts of the house doing something.... or cartoons.. He also likes Wheel of Fortune and Price is Right..... doesn't pay the least bit of attention to it if there are animals on the TV though. LOL, the only reason we put any of these shows on is for the dog. He'll sit his butt down right in front of that TV and not move until we distract him.

My dog is only interested in tv if there is another dog on tv. She also likes other animals. A show on bears or horses would also catch her attention. But if the show is just about people she rolls over and goes to sleep.
She likes the Air Bud movies. And anything on Animal Planet.
And sorry people are being rude to you. I feel like some of my favorite people are dropping out lately and the dog section is getting a lot slower (and less fun). Try to stick around!

LOL Love your quote!
Mine will stop and look at the TV only if someone is singing. I dont know why but they all do it. Once in a while if they hear a dog barking too. Other than that they ignor it. I usually dont have the TV on durring the day only music so that may be the reason.

I love watching dog shows with my dogs - they'll go and sniff behind the TV or look outside to find the dogs. Other than that, they don't watch TV. They do see the time when I'm sitting there as time when I'm free to love them though, but usually it's either that or that they want to play.

One of my dogs watches TV occasionally and likes shows involving other dogs, coyotes, wolves, foxes, and inexplicably, dolphins. No other animals or TV shows interest her.
My other dog seems to care less. Never watches anything. Smart dog.
I'm with you on the rudeness. It seems to have gotten especially bad lately. I try and stay positive and trying to I'm learn to take a breath and ignore questions that make me mad and to walk away from Y Answers when the trolls really come out. Nobody learns anything when people are rude.

My dogs like watching tapes of dogshows. Not the televised stuff, but tapes or dvds of actual shows that I have. They hear the show sounds, the barking dogs and like watching.
My Bernese girl especially loves watching the Samoyed Nat'ls... she's been doing her best for years to try to talk us into letting her breed with a Sammy boy... I think mebbe she's scoping them out.
One thing thats nice about having shows on tape (or dvd) is that my pups get to hear them long before they're ever at a show... and so the sounds are familiar when they get there.

Nice quote! Too true! haha
My lab doesn't like tv. If he hears a dog barking, he'll look around all over the house to find it lol But what he does do is jump on my lap (yup all 90 lbs of him) and blocks my view of the tv and gives me the 'hello look at me' look! So I end up turning the tv off and play with him. He's not stupid, he knows how to get my attention! lol

My cutting-edge dogs are: a weimeramer that became right into a rescued rescue- i assume she could have ended up in a shield if we hadn't taken her. She has some matters, yet i admire her - she spent her first three hundred and sixty 5 days in a cage, then became into "rescued" by potential of somebody who moved her as much as a run. She became right into a million a million/2, no longer residing house broken, had by no potential even been in a house. did no longer take her long to settle in however we've had her approximately 6 years now. I also have a dogue de bordeaux puppy from a breeder, he's 15 weeks previous now, has basically been right here for a week. i could have enjoyed to soak up a rescue DDB, yet i would be exhibiting this boy and doing obedience paintings, and for conformation a minimum of he must be intact. I even have additionally had many foundlings interior the previous- dumped off rotties chanced on interior the line, a benji looking mutt that somebody became into giving freely, some sort of collie combination that I pulled out of the line whilst she became into approximately 6 weeks previous and so full of hookworms she necessary an entire blood transfusion. earlier whilst, I had APBT's that i offered from breeders for exhibiting and obedience paintings....they weren't so uncomplicated right here then, in the event that they weren't banned the place I stay, i could be on the shield searching for one now!
