You might want to perform an exorcism to confirm that it's a demon before suing. Demonic possession is notoriously hard to prove in court.

7 Year Old With Schizophrenia

Madam, there are no demons! What the Bible reports as demon possession was early manifestations of mental illness including schizophrenia and epilepsy. Instead of worrying about how you can sue your medical practitioner and make some cash, think about your son's plight. He has been diagnosed with an incurable mental illness at the tender age of 7, for God's sake! What can you do for him?

The first thing you can do is get a second medical opinion or more. Schizophrenia usually presents itself in the teen years and is not a single disease but a spectrum of disorders. For this reason a diagnosis of schizophrenia in one so young needs more than one opinion. There may be organic causes for his behavior as well as child abuse and child neglect. There is hope!! Educate yourself; look up "schizophrenia" in a Yahoo! web search. Wikipedia has a good summary.

Good luck to you and especially your son, good mental health, peace and love! God bless!

Sounds more like ADHD than ODD but there are specialists out there who can diagnose this. The school should be doing more to help with specialist one-2-one tuition. find out if they have such a scheme. Insist that he gets a proper diagnosis from a qualified specialist (be aware that this can take many consultations over a long period of time). If the school do not help, contact your local Children's Welfare Team at the social services department nearest to you and they will ensure that the right support is in place, not only for your son but for you and the rest of the family as well.

Schizophrenia is a medical condition that affects the brain. It's just as real as any other condition. If your son is acting different it's because of this. If you don't like the doctor who gave the diagnosis please go for a second opinion. Medication can help him. If you're religious you can pray as well as get him treated from a doctor.

i wouldn't sue him... i don't believe "possession" is a medical condition therefore, your doctor couldn't possibly diagnose that. i would see a psychiatrist on this matter as there is very little if any belief in today's church of demon possession.
out of curiosity, why do you not believe it is schizophrenia? the two would have similar symptoms... what do you know that you are not sharing?

Well I hope this was a psychologist that told you this and if so then go to a couple more and find out what help he needs, there are some cases where a child has temporary schizophrenia due to a trauma he/she suffered. Also find other altenatives on treating your child.

I don't think the doctor is lying; I believe your doctor believes he is correct.

The real problem is most likely nutritional. This is so common in our society today that it is epidemic! I would strongly suggest you find a certified nutritional therapist, not a dietitian or medical doctor, and get your son tested to see what his nutritional deficiencies are and take a hard look at his diet. There are cultures in the world that do not have any of these problems and the doctor that diagnosed this problem has his hands tied by the AMA (American Medical Association) to recommend any nutritional advice. He could lose his license for doing this, so you can't really blame him.

You need to get good advice to fix this problem. E-mail me if you like, let me know the general area where you are located and I can make a suggestion if you like.

good luck to you

I certainly would! What self-respecting MD can't differentiate between mental illness and demon possession?

First you have to hire a lawyer then you need to find a qualified exorcist to testify for you.
