hair turns gray starting at the root... once that strand turns, all others will come in gray....( that comes from that follicle )

Easy enough to tell--pull it out from the roots. You'll find it's gray all the way. It's new hair that grows. Since it bothers you, Highlighting can be preferable to overall color as it doesn't leave that demarcation line as the roots grow out. By highlighting, you add another color and the gray then blends in more. And there are the gray coverup dyes, but not sure about them at all.

Hair grows white when the color pigment (melanin) ceases to be produced in the hair follicle and small air spaces take its place. Please check out http://useinfo-grayhair.blogspot.com/ for more info.

Not sure but what i am sure of is that i have loads of grey and I'm only 36........ even my daughter told me just the other day that i was getting very white.......................... I'm too afraid to check if i got grey hair down on my mickey !!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
