well I dont have kids
but if I did I'd be more than happy to tell them about Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny for that matter too.
After all at some point they learn that they really don't exist and no one insists that not believing in them is a one way ticket to eternal torment

sure ill tell them. if theyre raised as an atheist then theyll question its existence when theyre old enough, but theres no reason to crush a little kid's dreams like that... thats just sick!
likewise, if my kid chose to believe in santa claus, i wouldnt stop them. if my kid chose to believe in God, id support them all the way. theres more to being an atheist then being offended at the word religion.

When they're young I'll tell them all sorts of stories so they can feel wonder, joy and awe at the world around them, as they get older I'll teach them about science so they can replace that credulous wonder with the excitment of understanding real things about the universe like why the sun shines, why the sky is blue and so on.

i'm no longer a make certain, yet whilst i became into and my baby asked me what happens whilst human beings die i could say they supply up residing. he or she could have little concept of the assumption of an afterlife so i won't be able to think of why that answer could disenchanted them. What do dad and mom say whilst a puppy dies? Christians have not got faith in animals going to Heaven yet many make it up and say they do. human beings deceive their young ones continuously approximately difficult questions, yet i do no longer think of that mendacity is important. *edit* So the region is your a 4 year-previous asking the place their those days deceased grandmother is. in case you weren't m youngster i would not even touch it. in case you have been i could say "she died". in case you ask what loss of life skill i could say "loss of life is whilst human beings supply up residing". a baby of four could in all danger no longer have the potential to or would not care sufficient to articulate their confusion in this subject, yet once you probably did i could proceed via saying "she isn't with us anymore, whilst one dies we will not see them lower back". i could anticipate you to the two flow away it at that, cry, or retaining urgent their confusion. At this factor i could purely flow out and purchase a e book on it. they have books for all the difficult questions. I have been given one approximately the place toddlers come from as a baby. LOL

I will tell mine. They're fun. Once they reach a certain age they'll realize it's not real, but they'll appreciate the fun of it that I let them believe in while it lasted.
I don't even think I'll tell them yes or no about whether or not there is God--that's for them to decide on their own.

That they are fairy tales, like snow white and the seven dwarfs, or Cinderella, nice sweet stories but not true.

They don't exist. You lost a tooth, get a job with dental benefits. You want toys? Lets go to china and make some.

I don't have kids yet. I would tell them that they're make-believe. Like when we go out in the backyard and pretend that tigers are chasing us.
