For me, the resurrection of Jesus is the most important thing. Everybody dies at one point or another, but he came back from being dead and buried and then ascended into heaven. Good Friday should be a somber day to remind us that he was human and suffered pain and agony before death. Easter is a time of celebration and rebirth (hence the Easter Egg - don't know how the bunny got into the picture). My family always treated Easter as a celebration and we got small baskets with eggs and candies - maybe a religious book.

the most important thing is the RESURRECTION from the dead by which HE saved our souls for all eternity!
the birth, and death on the CROSS were the means by which JESUS accomplished this.
GOOD FRIDAY is not a day to give gifts to others! this is the most somber day of our lives, we (every sinner) MURDERED our GOD who created us and has given us stewardship over everything we "own". the purpose of which is actually to share with each other all that we have. we also fail most of the time to do that!
thankfully we have such a loving GOD that HE continues to forgive us and gives us more opportunites to get it right. most importantly, JESUS never gives up on us!

Oh my goodness the Death of Jesus Christ on the Cross was the Sacrafice capable of any man. The resurrection of Christ three days later is the Miracle and gift, capable of only one, The Lord Jesus Christ. This is why we celebrate Resurrection Sunday.

How did you arrive at that conclusion?
The resurrection is the most important thing. If Jesus didn't rise from the dead, then Christianity would be just like every other religion in the world --- false and meaningless.

I think some religions make more of a fuss over this than others, but the giving of gifts at Christmas (the birth) is symbolistic of the Three Wise Men, who came bearing gifts when they finally found Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. I don't recall any gift giving at the tomb. ;)

In Christian theology, the death is important, but not central. The victory over the grave wasn't made complete until the resurrection.

You are misinformed. The crucial point in Christianity is the Resurrection, not the death. Without the Resurrection, there would be no Christianity.

Actually catholics are just making up all things. there's no exact date on when Jesus had died. It is not even written in the bible that April or good Friday is the day when Jesus died.
Why should you give presents on the death of Jesus anyway? Things on earth that you offer will not make Jesus happy, instead. Live your life as what he wants it to be. Pray, repent and ask forgiveness for your sins. remember that Jesus came here on earth to save all our sins. Jesus Death should not be celebrated. We should be ashamed of ourselves that our God died on the cross for us, to save us and to cleanse our sins, yet people now are taking it for granted.
Just put in mind, there are no such thing as holy week. it is never been stated in the bible. its all made up of catholics.
