I would like to differ from all the other answers you have got.
The steel king of India (and the world) is none other than Lakshmi Mittal of the Arcelor Mittal fame. His company is the worlds largest steel producer - by a large margin.
Of course the Tatas need an honorable mention for Tata Steel (India's oldest and largest steel maker). But they are not a steel king/they are steel kings (if you get what I mean to say - a group and a single person)

Arcelor Mittal is way bigger than Tata, just check the tons of steel produced.
But Tata is more diversified.

the Steel king of india is indeed SAIL with five integrated plants in bhilai. bokaro, rourkela, durgapur and burnpur and special steel plants in salem(TN), Bhadravati(karnataka), ASP durgapur, its capacity is of 14 Million Tonnes which is highest in india.... where as tata has capacity of only 4MT...
