Make sure you're sensible - don't do things in extremes because not only is it unhealthy but you'll probably find the weight won't stay off.
Get hold of a good diet programme - I'd recommend the GL diet - it's safe and it works - just note that it allows a lot of fats so try to keep it low fat. You'll be eating little and often and banishing those nasty cravings. You'll also find you're not starving yourself. Most supermarkets provide low fat alternatives so use those.
Then make sure you get some exercise but don't go overboard at first. Easy does it here - get down to the gym for half an hour 3 times a week, walk the dog, take the stairs or go swimming.
Take it slow and keep track of your progress. Since you're exercising take body measurements (hips, thighs, waist and bust) and chart those as you might find your size decreases but your weight doesn't. Don't be discouraged by this - it's just that you're getting fitter and banishing flab...
Lastly - stay smiley and positive. Encourage yourself with a small treat occasionally (try a new make-up product or bath soak so your rewards are lovely but not fattening).
Be encouraged - you'll do great :)

Consistancy is the key.
3500 calories equals one pound. So, in order to loose a pound, you have to burn 3500 more calories.
The key is consistancy - you can't just exercise for a week and expect huge results. You have to do it every day or at least every other day.
Keep a food journal. I know it sounds silly - but people have food amnesia - You forget that you ate that extra piece of pizza "because you had been good all week" - It helps you keep track of those calories, and if you know you have to write it down, you are less likely to eat it.

90 percent of losing weight is correct caloric intake with proper nutrition.
Seek the help of a nutritionist, there's much more than exercise to lose weight.

1 alco pop is a jammy doughnut with icing and sprinkles...
im in a wheelchair, so i cant exactly exercise, but i manage my weight at around 11 stone... by cooking, and not doing stuff to excess... and i eat lots of the wrong things... pasta curry, chilli, chips... and im a biggish bloke, i know how to eat, but, i only scoff if ive been working...excerting myself.. if i havent, then i dont just eat a whole 3course meal for the sake of it... and if i want to snack.. try munching breakfast cereal dry... mmm i love mini shredded wheat and weetabix...
and knocking up fat free biscuits take as long as the adverts on sky 1..pop em in, and by the next adverts theyre cooked...
SR flour /bicarb / water / honey / dried fruit /
thats it... and if were being posh, sift some icing sugar on the top...
