How can I believe in God?

I am a skeptic, I require verifiable evidence. How can I believe in God?

We could, of course, drop the evidence requirement, but that doesn't seem like a good idea.

Use your own logic, knowledge, understanding and wisdom and they will point you toward him.

God gave us the answer of in his creation, something must happen first before something else could happen, this being only relevant in our physical universe. Scientist in the 20th century discovered that the universe was not eternal in that all energy breaks down irreversible through entropy. Meaning that energy is moving from being able to do more work to less work. For something to be created, something else has to cause its creation, a larger energy source. Concluding that something with more energy than the universe had to create the universe.

God exists outside of time. Since we live in a universe of cause and effect, we naturally assume that this is the only way in which any kind of existence can function. However, the premise is false. Without the dimension of time, there is no cause and effect, and all things that could exist in such a realm would have no need of being caused, but would have always existed. Therefore, God created the time dimension of our universe specifically for a reason - so that cause and effect would exist for us.

God cannot be examined, yet we can examine each other and we live in a physical world where all things living are mechanics, either biological or artificial. We know this, and thus our concept of thinking is that all things must be mechanical, so who created God? No one, nothing as explained in the previous paragraph, God is not a mechanical - physical, but only the most advanced and sophisticated being or non-being living outside and inside our universe, or our box which we cannot think outside of.

There is no verifible evidence. Why would it be called faith if there was? God wants you to trust Him without seeing Him. You've heard of the million dollars example. You believe that one million dollars exists. Have you seen a million dollars? Physically seen in bills? No...but you believe it's there. Why?

Belief and faith are two different things. I can believe in anything. The devils believe in God and tremble. Do they have faith in God? No. They don't trust or obey Him. You can believe in God because He is the only being in the entire universe that will never let you down. You can believe in God becuase every OTHER being in this universe is motivated by greed and lust if it doesn't have to do with God. The punishments that God brings with Him are not meant to scare us, but to help us understand that even though we have no faith, He will still maintain control over creation. You are the only thing that can say no to God.

If you really want verifiable evedince, go look up the odds of DNA and RNA occurring by itself. Go look at the speicies that are STILL being discovered today in the ocean. Go look and read the Bible and how it has been NEVER proven wrong, unlike it's....mimickers. A man once said "I can prove the existance of God by the beauty of my thumb." How can he say something like that? It's easy, God created us unique, and although other speices may mimick the thumb ability, we are the only ones who have used it in any manner other than grabbing for food. It's sounds basic, I know, but that really is what it boils down to.

We love, we hate, we destroy, we create, we build, we laugh, we cry, we love. We can build monuments and buildings hundreds of feet into the sky. We cure diseases and ailments that plauge us for centuries. We do things that are contrary to nature, and nothing stands in our way.
Except God.

Try talking to him matey, and tell Him how you would Love to see some require verifiable evidence so you can I believe in Him.
Ask Him if He would answer a prayer (in the right context, if you really want Him to answer) and I believe, if you do what I just asked, you will have undeniable evidence. Until you start thinking and trying to rationalize what just happened.
God knows your heart and if you really are seeking Him, He will reveal Himself to you.

God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

Look at the remarkable way you are made. For instance the human eye.
The Bible in Psalms chapter 139 the writer there recognized that he had a Maker.Verses14-16: " I shall laud you because in a fear-inspiring way I am wonderfully made.Your works are wonderful,As my soul is very well aware.My bones were not hidden from you When I was made in secret When I was woven in the lowest parts of the earth.Your eyes saw even the embryo of me,And in your book all its parts were down in writing.
Science has now proven that our DNA is basically a written code for each individual. How did the Bible writer know that?
Because the Bible is the inspired word of our God,and He willingly reveals Himself to those that will search for Him.
He reveals His personal name at Psalms 83:18
For scientists, who are the greatest of skeptics, they have come to admitt we had to have been created with intelligent design. They can't answer why we grow old and die for the human body completely replaces every cell every seven years and should continue to do so indefinitely. But God told the first human pair that due to their disobedience that they would return to the dust from which they were made.Genesis 3:17-19. However God did not just give up on His original purpose for us. He put into action a plan to restore mankind to his original state of perfection.God replaced what Adam forfeited with his disobedience,with another willing perfect human in Jesus.As a perfect exchange Jesus proved that a human could and would be obedient,even under test. For that faithful act Jesus was promised he would rule as our King to restore us to that state. His actions while here on the earth, restoring sight to the blind, healing the lame, curing disease, bringing the dead back to life, all were done to demonstrate that He has been given the authority and ability to restore perfect health and wellness to mankind. He even exercised control over the sea and weather, calming it at will, Luke 8:22-25. He did on a small scale what He will do in the near future on a global scale, as our King. The Bible has cental theme running through it, from mankinds loss of his relationship with God to our being restored to that relationship in the original condition that we were designed to live. Does it make sense that trees and some animals live longer than man? They have no ability to reason and have not sinned against God. They have simply suffered the consequences of mankinds choices.
Yet in our imperfect condition,we still have the ability to appreciate the beauty around us, and a longing to enjoy it indefinitely. Proof that we were meant to live forever on our earth and to enjoy life here.

if you read the Bible and understand it you will find that people today are making the Bible true. about 3 or 4 thousand years ago people wrote what God told them and it says that in the end days people will use Gods name in vain,and be liars, lovers of themselves, etc.why is it that if you listen to people around you long enough you will most likely here them use Gods name in vain,and How did some one know that 4 thousand years ago even before the name Jesus Christ was though of.and that's only one example. and if you don't want to use the Bible to prove any thing try studying science, not the stuff that they try to shove down your throat but really study both sides of the arguments a see what makes more sense to you. the Internet is a good place to find info from both sides, but realize that people try to tell you that theories are proven fact

It's a tough situation to be in, and many of us are there with you. Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, objective surveys of the evidence do not indicated that there is a god, at least not one that we know about.

You will hear personal experience given as evidence, but the thing is almost every religion will have followers that have had personal experiences.

Think about this, There is a little country in the middle east the size of Rhode Island that the whole world evolves around, it has no oil, no known commodities that would make it special yet you will find its History in a book called the Holy Bible. Its name is Isreal. WoW. Now how can that be. Why is it that three biggest religions in the world all want Jerusalem? How about the Jews, how can a race of people be so hated by people like stalin and hitler, so hated they wanted to wipe out the entire race. There is something special about the Jewish People and Isreal, and it is on purpose. Planted in the hearts of man by God and his son Jesus Christ. And its been there for 6000 years. I believe Jerusalem was part of the Garden of Eden. The Bible says to look up and know that I am God. How about another one, Why is it man cannot create anything? With all our technology, we can invent, but not create. I just came from the gulf coast. Go ask one of them who helped them the most during this tragedy and ask them who is the only one still helping. Christians, because the Love of Jesus is in our hearts and we long to help others in time of need. I am no longer searching for something, I have found it. If you would like to have Jesus give you a new heart say this Prayer believing in him, ask Jesus to come into your Heart and show he is real, just Pray, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. If you have a true desire to seek GOD The first thing you need to do is accept Christ as your LORD and SAVIOR AND ASK FOR FORGIVENESS and repent for your sins. You must confess this before men/women, and I'm not talking about saying what your sins are that is between GOD and yourself but admitting you are a sinner. Then seek a Bible based congregation. And don't forget to start reading the Bible, but pray for understanding of the WORD. GOD bless you. Praise the LORD.

You have to want to believe.. No one has verifiable evidence that he does or doesn't exist. That goes for many accepted facts in science. Big Bang..Quantum Mechanics has some real unanswered questions going on..You don't have to believe you know.

The "evidence " is all around you if you choose to look. Gods creation is a wondrous universe with all sorts of mysteries unsolvable by man and science. Belief in God is based on faith and you have a choice -believe in God or reject Him and His love for you. He waits patiently.
