It's a sin, I am posting this because I just answered a question and a lot of you don't know what your talking about. Does the bible say homosexual? no does it say effeminate? yes 1 Corintians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind.

Not to mention Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Now if you believe in the bible how can you deny that? There is no denying it's all scriptual truth.

Ok once again this is for those that believe the bible so if you don't well I don't care what you have to say. Also obviously you can't read, because God does not make gay people. You must not also believe in free will than right? Yea well this is just preaching topic to give to those that believe this. I am not talking to you people that don't believe in God or His bible.

Deirdre you yourself are blind, and don't know anything about interpreting the bible. 1 Corinthians 6:9, Romans 1, and Leviticus 20:18 all point to gays. THEY ALL SUPPORT EACH OTHER. I am not lashing out at gays, but simply showing scripture. Telling them about there sin, so don't call me out and say I am judging.

I agree! the Lord outright condemns homosexuality. Man will always make an excuse for his behavior in this regard claiming to be "born that way" Rubbish! their condition is the result of a conscious decision. The very reason the Lord destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah was for this same reason. the Lord will not excuse sin in any form!
Christians are not surprised as the Bible states that in the last days this behavior will be rife and those involved in this activity have been given over to a reprobate mind to do those things which seem convenient to them. Rest assured, the Lord has declared that it will not go unpunished as there is a day of judgment reserved for the people who involve themselves in this activity.

Let's get some things straight. Let's just say that God creates gay people. I'm not so sure but let's just say it for the sake of argument. Did He not also create serial killers, child rapists, thieves? Yet how many of us would say that as long as they do there killing or raping in the privacy of thier own home it's ok. No! These things are wrong. It's not a matter of location it's a matter of activity and attitude.
The real question is how do we decide what's right and wrong? I am a christian and I believe the Bible is the infallable word of God. But how do we come to that belief? There is an extreme lack of critical thinking skills in this world today.
For all you bible bashers out there, ask yourself, do you dislike the bible because someone told you it was bad, or because you learned about it in a class, or because someone in the church betrayed you, or is it possible that you haven't read it and given it a fair hearing?

Did you know THIS about the Bible: That it wasn't written in English??? The word that the KJV 'translates' as effeminate means no such thing. The original word in Greek is 'malakoi' which was most commonly used to mean soft, specifically in a moral standpoint. It in NO WAY meant effeminate. A straight upstanding male could be malakoi, and in no way homosexual. Maybe you should learn a little more about the Bible.
I believe in the Bible, and the word of God. I don't necessarily take ANY translation as accurate without further research!
Edit -- Well said Dierdre. I pray that in the future, certain Christians decide to follow Christ. People who are so set in interpreting laws and not understanding what Jesus taught were the ones he spoke out MOST against!

This is a problem, because people are born gay. So if god creates people to be gay and then says its a sin and you will be killed, than isn't that a bit crazy?
The other problem is that there is no reason to have anger toward someone who is gay. In what way does a gay person hurt anyone? How does Jim and Bob down the street loving each other have a negative impact on anyone. It is not like your son will say. Gee I guess I'll be gay since Jim and Bob are. Your son would have needed to be born that way.
Also, just to be clear...a gay man does not lieth with a man the same way a man lieth with a woman...not possible.
There is a lot to not believe in the bible son, like selling your daughters as slaves ect.

Hi Baptist. I can't believe how often I see this question posted. Why are you surprised It is one of the sins listed in the bible? If you believe the bible to be true and God's word then yes homosexuality is a sin. I asked my pastor about this and not just about this. Say for example a women who is a prostitute but goes to church. She leads a discreet life and pretty much no one knows about it. Is she still dying in her sins? (as the bible states) and he said yes. However, if they go to church they might get into scriptute and God will have an opportunity to "speak" to that sinner. There is a fine line here and it would be better if the word of God spoke to the sinner. So pray and welcome the sinners into church because we all do sin. I for one though, do expect my church leaders to live very moral lives and since they are examples of a moral life I do not expect them to be condoning (teaching) sin or living a sinful life.

Dear Baptist. Effeminate DOES NOT mean homosexual. I likely know many homosexuals who are far more "manly" than yourself, whom you would certainly seem effeminate next to.
This verse refers to living a life of soft luxury, not to homosexual sex.
As far as Leviticus, what makes you think that this specifically means men having sex with men? It says that a man shall not lie with a man as he would with a woman. Does this necessarily mean sex? Might it not mean that a man shouldn't treat a man as he would a woman? Might there not be different ways of treating people you are having sex with?
The point is that any understanding of this verse requires some interpretation. I stand by a previous post: nowhere in the Bible do the words appear "a man shall not have sex with another man". Things may appear clear to a Christian interpretation, especially when that Christian is predisposed to believe that homosexual sex is already wrong. However to state that it is categorically clear in scripture is to read something into scripture; isegesis.

you are small minded and have no logical understanding of biology or science. If you want to live your life according to a fictional novel, go ahead. but you might as well base your life on Star Wars. Tell your findings to the other religions and they will laugh at you also. No one knows what is out there and for you to say you know the truth is absurd. I'm not saying there mignt be a "force" out there somewhere, but you have no idea what it is. Remember Christians killed people who believed in Copernicus' theory and imprisoned Gallelio becuase his teachings were inconsistant with the bible. But they were right. That's the dumbest thing I have heard all day. "G-d does not make gay people."
Let me ask you a question. What was your thought process of you deciding to be straight. If being gay is a choice, then being straight is also a choice, of course. So, how did you come to that conclusion?
Secondly, in the Old Testament, the law is against sodomy. Not being gay. The law is that a man should not have sex with a man. There is no prohibition against the love between a man and a man.

If you want me to listen to the buy-bull, then you'd have me thinking impregnating a woman without her consent wasn't rape.
Or that eating apples were going to give me all the knowledge in the world, except for the knowledge to conceal it from god.
And as for free will, do you even know what that is? There are some qualities people are born with and they can only use free will in deciding what to do with them. Gays are born with an attraction to members of the same sex. Their free will lets them decide whether or not they want to be ashamed of how they're born.
By your reasoning, although I'm born with black hair, my free will should allow me to grow red hair. Unfortunately for you, all my free will can do is let me dye my hair.
