I used to cut myself. I even tried to commit suicide twice. But i'm better now. I didn't tell my mom then, because i was scared to face the truth, that i had a problem. But should I tell my mom now? I'm afraid she'll freak out.

Yes. Absolutely. It would be much better to talk with her now while you're feeling OK. She might be a little "caught off guard" at first, but if she is a loving and caring parent, she will see that you have been facing a tough time and need support.

As others said, these issues may resolve themselves for a while but may reappear later when stressful times come. Letting your Mom know now will pave the way for later when you need some extra support.

I understand your not going through it now...but depression can come back any time and your mom needs to be prepared to help you if it should. You should have let her help you when you were going through it...maybe you wouldn't have tried to commit suicide twice. I am glad your better now!

Well, as my parents always say 'Tell us what your problem is since it's not you who would fix things.'

Anyways, if you can handle it[your problem] then tell your mom. If she's like my mom, then she'll probably somehow scold you and say things that will make it better at the same time.

I think it all depends on how you think your mom will react to this.
If she is a supportive mom, talk to her.
If you think she will be angry and not come around, you better think twice about telling her.
My mom is only a fair weather friend.
When I am at my worst, she says things to make me feel even lower.
Please find someone else to talk to about this if you do not choose to talk to your mom. Best Wishes
I hope you keep feeling better.

If you feel you might have a relapse or need help, then talk with your mom.

Emotional problems just don't disappear on their own.

If you need for information, there are self-injury self help websites out there.. just do a yahoo search.

I hope you remain well and safe! all the best.
