I'm Jewish so I maybe shouldn't be answering, but I saw it and I was very upset. I mean, they didn't even let us use our own horns! We had to settle for being represented by some creepy male/female Satan-thing.
I'm kidding, of course. It really made us look bad and we got flack for weeks. We still have police escorts at shul on the High Holidays because of the nutjobs one year after the movie saying we killed their man we're all devils need to be killed....oy.

As a Christian, I am compassionate about all people - regardless of their race, background, religion, etc.
In fact, I love to talk to Jewish people about our differences.
When I watched Passion of the Christ, I felt compassionate towards the actor who played Jesus Christ. I didn't feel angry at the Jewish people - I just thought this is just what loosely happened back in those days as a historical event. Nothing more. I have nothing against the Jews before watching and after watching the Passion of the Christ.
But you also have to take into consideration, it is just a movie, stylised the way that only Hollywood and lots of money can. It strictly wasn't based on the scriptures per se, but one could see that the movie was anti-Semitic in its nature, given your own interpretations and your background.

Not a Christian, but upon watching this film, I was impressed at the significance of politics in the outcome of Jesus' fate. The fact that the blame is placed on the Jews is immaterial to me; the piece played out like a political intrigue that added to my understanding of human nature and how established religions work to maintain themselves in the face of new challenges. Humans are basically frightened creatures who band together for physical and psychological survival. The Passion of the Christ seemed to underscore this aspect. It was an enjoyable but harrowing movie, and I hold no anger at the Jews or the Romans, for that matter. Rather than presenting mythological glossiness, this movie seemed to underscore historical currents and minimize the supernatural elements.

It didn't make me angry toward Jewish People or the Romans, because Christ said, "He had the power to lay down His life and to take if back up." In the Bible, Jesus said, "destroy this temple (meaning his body) and I will raise it up in 3 days."
He told Pilot that he had no power except what power was given to him from above. Jesus told him He could call legions of angels to fight for Him, but this is what He came to do.
Jesus said, "I and the Father are One." No man can kill God.
God even said that it pleased Him to bruise Jesus for us.
Jesus went to the cross for you, me and the Jewish people.
If you knew the Holy Bible, you would never ask this question.
The Jews are the apple of God's eye. Jesus is a Jew. We owe our knowledge of times past to the Jews.
God told us to bless them and to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Here is a warning from God's Word addressed to the Gentiles concerning the Jews: "I will bless those who bless you and I will curse those who curse you."
It isn't wise to mess with God's chosen people, the Jews. God has returned them to their land as He said He would do.
They became a nation in one day as He said they would. They are speaking the old language Hebrew which He said they would. And many more prophesies have been fulfilled concerning the Jewish people.

Not at all! That would be like me saying that I hated all muslims because of what happened on Sept. 11. Just because we know of a few not so good ones does not mean that the rest are the same. Everything and everyone has their flukes. I am not going to sit here and say I hate Germans because of WWII either, association doesn't always make you guilty. I don't believe every Jew would act in that manner, just as I dont think every Muslim is going to attack us.
We need to stop focusing on the bad and unite with all those that are good!

No - If I was angry at anyone, it was the Romans. The Jews set him up but the Romans did the torturing. What I was surprised about most was that my reaction was to the love of God that he went through that for us and the love of Mary for her son. I really did think afterward that it was a love story not a vendetta against the Jews.

if anything it made me angry that people would use religion as a justification for killing individuals or ethnic groups. it accurately portrayed what is written in the Gospel of John, in particular, but if you read Elaine Pagels (the Origin of Satan) it is clear that that gospel is intended to associate Judaism with Satan

No, everything that Jesus went through was part of God's plan. It saved us all. He was the sacrificial lamb. It was something that had to be done, because we were born into sin and lost without hope until then.

Seeing the type of things he went through in full colour made me feel so sorry for him. This film was one of the things that started my faith ball rolling. I remember watching him being scourged and thinking "he must have really loved us to willingly go through this".

I chose not to watch this, because it breaks the 2nd commandment. Not making images of Jesus. Also, the movie is guilty of adding to the Scriptures as well.
