I am going to see a guy on Saturday and his birthday is on Monday. Can I go ahead and give him his birthday card on Saturday? It is just a card (there is no gift check, etc.).
Also, does giving a birthday card indicate that you like someone or can a birthday card be totally platonic?

a birthday card can be given early just write on the back of the envelope "not to be opened untill birthday" and yes of course cards can be given as a totally platonic friendship

You can give someone a card whenever you like. Giving a birthday card doesn't really show anything, after all we give them to relatives because we feel we ought to! It's just a nice gesture.
