The name "goldendoodle" is just a poor excuse for a name given to Golden Retriever and Poodle mixes.
I feel nothing but pity for any dog that gets a breed name such as "goldendoodle" or any other name given in a desperate attempt to make them sound "designer".

They're a cross between Golden retrievers and poodles. I've seen quite a few and they are all different. They come in different sizes and colors. Mainly because poodles do. The other is a Labradoodle. (cross between a Lab and Poodle) The Labradoodle tends to have shorter hair then the Goldendoodles. You can't go wrong with this mix, both retrievers and Poodles are wonderful pets.

It's a cross between a golden retriever and a poodle most often the standard poodle.
They're mixed breed dogs. That means the AKC won't recognize them and those people who breed them intentionally are only in it for the money - marketing them as "designer dogs."

yes they are a cross-breed.
they are crossed between a golden retriever and a poodle.
they are in some cases good for people with allergies but this is not a guarantee.
Labradoodles and Goldendoodles are apparently being considered for breed recognition and allowance into both the UK KC and the AKC.
They are now being used more and more for guide dogs for the blind (atleast in the UK), with more Labradoodles being used for guiding than all breeds except Labradors.

Usually hyperactive cross between golden retriever and a standard poodle. Some may not shed that much.
The marketing hype is a "hypoallergenic" dog.
It's pretty much B/S.
Late Entry :
I will never bother again :)

P.S. the "golden" in the name is to distinguish between Lab /labradoodle/ mix and golden.
Good Morning Bossoli :))))

It's a mixed breed dog that someone gave a made-up name to because they thought it was so cute. It means nothing. They're trying to make it a "designer dog" to make it sound more desireable.

It's a golden retriever x poodle. Very high energy- they need a lot of exercise and firm training.
