I've had a lot of rude, mean things said to me. But I think the one that takes the cake was a personal e-mail I got from another Y!A user a while back. I'd answered another etiquette question and didn't really think much more of it, but then got this patronizing and downright nasty e-mail from another person who answered the question. This person proceeded to inform me that I needed to read "Miss Manners Guide To Excuriatingly (sic) Correct Behavior." (I have read it, by the way, and feel that Miss Manners, along with anyone else who refers to themselves in the third person, is a conceited snob that no truly polite person should ever seek to emulate.)
Okay, I know that doesn't sound overly mean. Maybe not as mean as cuss words or obvious insults--but reading between the lines, it was much worse. I feel that there is nothing worse than disguising sheer rudeness and conceit until a veil of politeness and concern.

I cannot actually recall any one being rude to me on the Internet. But that is most likely because I know that people seam to be very brave at their keyboard and rather timid in person. I also don’t take offense to people that are trying to start a fight on the net because I know for a fact that Fighting on the internet is just like winning a gold medal at the Special Olympics.
Even if you win you are still a Freaking Retard!

One person asked a question that was racial towards children. I made my comment on it and just happened to turn on my e-mail so I could send someone a phone number for a grocery store that sold something she was looking for. This person who made the racial comments e-mailed me and referred to me as a Martha Stewart type of person and that they thought their questions were funny. I don't see how anyone who says racial things about children funny and changed my settings back so I wouldn't receive e-mail again.

"anybody who asks a stupid question like that must be stupid"
that really hurt me, and i deleted the question.
but no matter what somebody says to you, they are the same thing 10 fold. so just ignore it and laugh!
I forgot to mention that once on my Google Answers (before it was discontinued) I had a bunch of z's for my answer for snoring. I thought that was horrible!

It was an honest forum and I had been receiving really nice comments about my looks and personality. Well one guy posted this: " You have a nice body........ONLY." That's pretty f**ked up. It didn't bother me though but it was pretty rude.

i answered a question, with a very sexist answer that actually came from my "bf"'s words, but did not explain that when i answered. a guy wrote me and called me a sexist and that if he had answered that way, he would have gotten lots of blasts from women. it wasn't really rude, or mean, just angry. i wrote him and apologized, explained, edited my answer. but that is the most angry thing i have ever been written.
